Beta Thalassemia Testing Market Beta thalassemia can be simplified as a diseased state of blood in which there is reduced hemoglobin production. Hemoglobin is a protein containing iron and is present in Red blood cells and the major function of hemoglobin is to carry oxygen to the body cells throughout the body. Low hemoglobin content in the beta thalassemia patients usually leads to the lack of oxygen in many parts of the body.
