"I had some friends from Redding who told me about Shasta College, so I nervously applied when I graduated from high school. On top of a fantastic coaching staff, Shasta College has a lot to offer. My English class is one of my favorites, and I’m a part of the Umoja program, which gave me a sense of belonging and community. After I graduate, I would like to transfer to a 4-year university and major in psychology and minor in communications and sociology. Everybody at Shasta College has made me feel like I’m an important member of this community." Da'Mario Shasta College Knight

CLIMATE CHANGE GLOBAL WARMING CAUSES, EFFECTS & SOLUTIONS Global warming is a huge, complex issue, and a lot of the debate can become discouraging. This series will explore the scientific realities of greenhouse gases, and their impacts; but most important, will focus on the many solutions that are just as positive for the economy as they are for the environment in which we live and thrive.
SESSION 1: GLOBAL WARMING SCIENCE AND IMPACTS DATE: FEB 2, 2021 Tue I 6:30 pm-8:00 pm $15 per session or $35 for all three

Dan Greaney
Pete Marsh
Dan Greaney developed an initial understanding of climate change through his many years as a naturalist, particularly through his involvement with Audubon. His concerns with the change remain rooted in the outdoor world, but quickly expanded to include human prosperity. He became active in the fossil fuel divestment movement at Stanford and now is a member of North State Climate Action.
Pete Marsh served 35 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and defense contracting industry. Because of his deep and growing concern about the negative impacts of global warming on our economy and ability to feed our growing human population, he self-apprenticed and founded a local business as a solar design and installation contractor.
