I was born and raised in Redding and attended Shasta High School, where I was a three-sport athlete. I was recruited to play softball and soccer at Shasta College my senior year. I had an amazing counselor, Mrs. Cushnie, who kept me on schedule while playing two sports, taking high-end science courses, and working part-time. Professors Gottlieb, Meacham, and Stupek inspired me and were instrumental in my college success. One of my favorite classes was public speaking. Although frightening at first, I realized I enjoyed being in front of the class and that I can do hard things! Shasta College laid the foundation and gave me the confidence to pursue a heavy academic workload and stay true to my graduation and educational goals. I graduated with my Associate in Science in two years and chose to attend Chico State to play softball.

Are challenges or fears related to the wildfires or the pandemic impacting your performance at work? You are not alone. Sometimes it is easy to assume that something might be “wrong” with my colleagues or clients when I see them “overreacting” over relatively minor things – but such assumptions are not fair. Most Important, these assumptions create barriers to developing healthy relationships with co-workers. Understanding the biology of traumatic and stressful life experiences helps us bring compassion and empathy to relate with others and ourselves in a healthier way. NOTE: please visit our website for additional information and details about this training. DATES: MAR 15 & 17, 2022 Tue/Thur I 9:00 am - 11:00 am I $95

THE EMPOWERMENT DYNAMICS MODEL SERIES Are you, or people in your team, focused on solving problems one after another without a clear picture of what you are trying to create or achieve? All teams have people who are prompt to complain because they tend to focus on problems. They might feel victimized by these problems, and they are constantly demanding attention from other team members to help them. Sounds familiar? Did you notice how our most important relationships seem to be characterized by drama? Wouldn’t it be nice to stop playing this game and be able to create healthier relationships and teams? This model shows us how to shift from “Problem-Oriented” to “Outcome-Oriented” in our relationships and teams – improving our skills to prioritize tasks and lead people. This powerful model offers us a new take on creating meaning around the challenges we face in our lives and the role and behaviors we develop in response to them – both at work and home. NOTE: please visit our website for additional information and details about this training. DATES: MAR 29 & 31, 2022 Tue/Thur I 9:00 am - 11:00 am I $95
