Design Trends: What's Hot for 2020

As the new year begins, most of us look to renew ourselves by making changes. One way to do that is to alter your surroundings. Revamping your home can make you feel refreshed. Even small changes can rejuvenate your spirit and inspire you to take on the rest of your resolutions. I love taking inspiration from designer forecast trends. Here are a few of my favorites that Collected Interior Design and Elle Decor believe will make their way into consumer homes within the next year:

1 / DARK PAINTED DOORS I’ve seen this done and it’s stunning! It adds warmth and character to the space and paired with beautiful hardware the doors become a statement piece in any room.

2 / BOLD-PATTERNED BACKSPLASHES While white and neutral cabinetry is still on trend, one of the best ways to make your kitchen and bathroom stand out is to incorporate a lively backsplash. 2020 is all about bold patterned tiles and colors.

3 / MIXED METALS This trend has been around for the last few years and I’m so happy it will continue. Designers are incorporating silver, gold, tin, and copper but suggest not mixing more than three metals in one space, or your decor could become too overwhelming for one room. Silver and brown metals will work well together, like iron and gold or bronze.
