State’s oldest fair marks 177th year

LAPORTE, Ind. — Make new memories at the 177th LaPorte County Fair, July 8-15.

Jordan Davis is headlining a concert July 11 at 7:30 p.m.

Indiana’s oldest fair also features time-honored traditions, such as Pioneer Land., which takes visitors back in time. Stops include a log cabin, blacksmith shop, antique post and beam barn, one-room schoolhouse, post office, general store, Farm Bureau cabin, pioneer heritage garden, outdoor cooking kitchen, quilter’s cabin, artisan barn and wash house.

The entire village was funded and is operated by

Six big

volunteers depicting the 1800-1840s time period.

Pioneer Land will be open 12-9 p.m. every day.
