Corn Fest is one of the last remaining free music festivals among Baggers Illinois music festivals and summer festivals. Celebrating its 42nd year, the festival will be held in downtown DeKalb on Lincoln Hwy. between 1st and 4th Street. Corn Fest is also one of the oldest summer music festivals in Illinois. Many people from Illinois as well as the Midwest attend this 3 day music festival. Admission to the festival is free. There is a $5 entry fee for the soundstage but there is a free section to view the bands from as well.

This festival features a carnival complete with rides and games, food booths, free live music, craft fair, car show, family entertainment and much more. Carnival wristbands are available for unlimited rides during the following times over the weekend : Friday: 3-7 pm, Saturday 11-4 pm or Sunday 11-6 pm. Wristbands valid only for timeframe for which they are purchased. $27.00 per day for Friday and Saturday, and $30.00 on Sunday. Back this year is the MEGA PASS! For $55 ride unlimited rides ALL WEEKEND LONG! Single ride tickets may be purchased all weekend long. The carnival hours are Fri. 3pm-11pm, Sat. 11am-11pm and Sun. 11am-6pm.

Team Entry Fee and Information: $50.00 per team. All entries will be processed in order of receipt and are subject to availability. Tournament will follow ACO rules. Double elimination tournament, winners bracket is best 2 of 3 & the losers bracket is single game elimination. Cash payout for 1st place is $300.00, 2nd place is $200.00 and 3rd place is $100.00. Social division payouts are as follows: $100.00 for 1st and $50.00 for 2nd place. Bags fly rain or shine.

Suggested Items to Bring to the Festival

TransVAC

• Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen: to protect you on hot, sunny days • Cellular phone: to allow you to connect with friends and family attending the Festival • Pen, paper, PDA and/or business cards: to exchange phone numbers with old friends you’ll run into and new friends you’ll meet • Schedule of Events: this can be printed by clicking on the “Sound Stage” link or picked up at one of the Festival Information Booths • Comfortable pair of shoes: since you’ll probably do lots of walking throughout the day. • Comfortable clothes: dress appropriately for the weather. • Photo camera: to treasure your memories of this year’s Festival. • Binoculars: if you’re seated far away from the stage. • Cash: to purchase Official Festival merchandise, art and crafts, and tickets for purchasing food and beverages. • ATM Card: ATM machines are available on the Festival grounds • Small umbrella or rain hat: in case of showers.

Will be offering free door to door pick up for seniors, people with disabilities, or anyone needing a ride to Corn Fest Aug. 24th & 25th. Call TransVAC 24 hours before your pick up to arrange times. Drop off will be at the DeKalb Senior Center located at 4th and Grove St. Call 815-7586641. This is a FREE service.

Steve will tantalize you with interesting tidbits from DeKalb’s historic past. Bus pick up at the Corner of Grove and 4th St. across the street from the Senior Center. First come, first served.

Saturday, August 24th 11 am - 2 pm Located at the corner of 4th St. and Lincoln Hwy, The DeKalb Corn Fest Board of Directors renamed the Corn Boil in 2009 in honor of Chuck Siebrasse, a lifelong DeKalb resident and respected community leader, and Chairman of the Corn Boil for 25 years, as well as past Chairmain of Corn Fest. Chuck passed away on February 5, 2009. We honor his memory with this tribute to recognize his lifelong commitment to Corn Fest and his tireless contributions to community service.

Free steamed sweet corn is available on Saturday during the festival from 11am until 2pm (or when corn runs out).
