SVCC agriculture program receives $5,000

Sauk Valley Community College has received $5,000 from the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee for the agriculture program. The money will be used toward precision agriculture projects, including purchasing a greenhouse.

Sauk Valley Community College’s precision agriculture course has been added to the course catalog for the fall semester. Registration for summer and fall classes opens Wednesday, April 6, for new students. To make an appointment with an adviser to register for classes, visit svcc.edu/schedule or call 815-835-635. College to host job fair April 14

Sauk Valley Community College will host a job fair Thursday, April 14. Area employers will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for networking and discussing open positions.

Job seekers are invited to this event on SVCC’s campus. No registration is required. Area employers that would like to participate are asked to register in advance by visiting svcc.edu/jobfair.

Nursing and radiologic technology information sessions set

The Sauk Valley Community College Health Professionals department will be hosting informational sessions for those who are interested in applying to their Radiologic Technology or Nursing programs. The information sessions will be at Sauk Valley Community College, 173 Illinois 2, Dixon.

Nursing program sessions will be in Room 2F02 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, and 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, and Tuesday, May 24.

Radiologic Technology program sessions will be in Room 2H22 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, and Tuesday, May 17, and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 15.

Attendees will learn more about the programs’ requirements, costs and expectations. Applications for the fall semester are due Wednesday, June 1. Those who are interested in applying for the Nursing or Radiologic Technology programs are required to attend one informational session and meet with an adviser prior to applying.
