United Methodist Church’s Rally Day is Sept. 11

Rally Day at the United Methodist Church of Morrison, 200 W. Lincoln Way, on Sunday, Sept. 11, is when the church welcomes its children and adults back to Sunday School after summer break. Rally Day marks the beginning of the church calendar. There will be special events and games. Children are encouraged to bring their backpacks as Pastor Sun-ah Kang will have a special blessing for them. Sunday School will start at 9 a.m. for children ages pre-K through sixth grade.

Rally Day coincides with Grandparents Day. President Jimmy Carter signed the Grandparents Day proclamation in 1978. It is a day to observe the bond of love and support between grandparents and their grandchildren. There will be tributes by grandchildren to their grandparents in our congregation and a special and meaningful video to mark this special day. So grandchildren, bring grandpa and grandma!
