Welcome to the 19th annual Geneva Arts Fair We are excited to be able to feature talented artisans from all over the country. Patrons can purchase to sell their original works of art and have the unique opportunity to meet exhibiting artists, learn the sources of their inspirations and ask questions about techniques. Visitors will have the opportunity to either purchase existing fine works of art or commission a special piece of art unique to your personal tastes. Thanks to the support of our generous sponsors, visitors can enjoy stunning displays of artistry for free. The Geneva Chamber of Commerce is proud to host this award-winning Arts Fair on July 24-25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, eight “Awards of Excellence” worth $500 each will be presented to our most outstanding 2-D and 3-D artists. Once again, the expertise and products of Plandscape Inc. will transform the corners of South Third and Franklin streets into a comforting, breathtaking display of foliage and color. Stop by the Information Garden’s Booth with your questions about the Arts Fair, upcoming festivals or visiting Geneva. Purchase a bottle of water to take with you while perusing the artists’ booths.
weekend trip, visit our website at www.genevachamber. com or call 630.232.6060. The Arts Fair is supported by various community members. We thank all our artists, volunteers, businesses, sponsors and the City of Geneva who help make this event a success. If you enjoy the Geneva Arts Fair, be sure to join us for our next event, Festival of the Vine, September 10-12 in downtown Geneva. We will celebrate the autumn harvest with food and wine, a craft show, musical entertainment and special merchant events throughout town. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the 2022 Geneva Arts Fair, July 23-24. Enjoy your visit to beautiful Geneva. Paula Schmidt – President Geneva Chamber of Commerce
If you’ve never visited Geneva, now is your chance to see a picture-postcard town, overflowing with comfort and charm on a beautiful summer day. Tucked away amidst the gorgeous Fox River Valley, downtown Geneva boasts more than 100 specialty shops located in historic storefronts and beautiful Victorian-style homes. Take some time to visit local merchants and discover unique gifts. During the show, dine at one of Geneva’s fine downtown eateries along State and Third streets, Dodson Place and other nearby locations. There’s so much to see, arts fair-goers might want to extend their stay by planning a weekend get-away. After a day of art, shopping and dining, spend the night in gracious accommodations. Jessica Stoddart-Ladd
Jessica Stoddart-Ladd grew up on a rural farm in middle Tennessee. The family home predated the civil war. As the child of photographers, she spent much of her childhood on the road with her parents at art shows. As she grew, Jessica developed her own love of art and found her own unique style. For her hard work and creativity, she was awarded an art scholarship to Austin Peay University in Tennessee, where she worked for and earned her BFA in art. Her college work focused on sculpture.
of creating; and all her sculpture and wood experience is used as Jessica hand crafts her wood canvases and designed and built her custom aluminum metal frames which are done by hand down to the hand rubbed finishing. While her strength lies in her understanding of light, composition, and design, the warmth and expression of her work is the juxtaposition it creates in the eyes, mind and heart of the viewer. A contrast of what is and isn’t there, the old and forgotten against the new, the past against the present all of which creates a lasting future. An unintended reflection on the struggles and triumphs of modern times. An epiphany of creation.
After college Jessica attended Penland School of Craft in Penland, NC where she studied furniture craft and design.
Jessica met her husband, Jon, while at Austin Peay University in 1999 and they have been together ever since. Jon was with her during her moves and they were officially married in May of 2009 on her family’s’ rural Tennessee farm. In 2012 Jessica and Jon welcomed their daughter Elin to the Journey. Jessica’s first solo art festival with her work was in Maggie Valley, NC in 2005. Jessica has been on the road traveling the country and showcasing her art ever since. Her current work is the culmination of all of her experience and work and was an epiphany in her art as it combines all elements of her skills and imagination. Her art is in its very nature an attempt to create an excitement while controlling the chaos of combining the abstract and realistic. A comment or study, if you will, on thinking and seeing. Just as important as the creation, is the processing of creating, and Jessica’s work is a mirror reflection of her process

A trip to Asheville, NC followed Penland, where Jessica purchased a home and became a Studio Artist at the Grovewood Gallery, near the Grove Park Inn. She spent 14 years in Asheville before moving to Cookeville, TN in 2015.

Festival of the Vine
Savor the flavor of Geneva during Festival of the Vine
For 42 years, Geneva has been celebrating the flavors of fall with Festival of the Vine. The centerpiece of this festival revolves around food in our Flavor Fare tent. The event runs September 10-12 at North Fourth and State streets. Times vary for food & wine purchase. Geneva has a great number of fine restaurants showcased at the Flavor Fare along with glasses of unique wine to accompany your food, for purchase. The restaurants set up under one huge tent offering three of their favorite signature items. Visitors purchase tickets and buy a “taste” at one of the featured stalls in the tent. Versatile local and Chicago-land musical and dance entertainers will also be featured on the stage. Other events during the Festival include arts and crafts fair, merchant wine events and seminars, flower market, trolley and horse drawn carriage rides plus great shopping in Geneva’s historic downtown. We invite you to fall into fun at Geneva Chamber of Commerce’s Festival of the Vine. Check back in mid-August for a complete schedule of events, hours, and a brochure at https://www.genevachamber.com/festivals-events/festival-of-the-vine/ or call 630.232.6060.
