TOM TESTER was born in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin and was raised in Beloit, Wisconsin. He graduated from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. While at Carthage, he was a member of Beta Phi Epsilon fraternity, president of the Inter Fraternity Council, and played football and baseball. In 1976, he accepted a rst line supervisory position with Johnson & Johnson in Chicago in their surgical gauze pad manufacturing area. He was recognized with their Supervisor of the Year Award in 1979. Tom accepted positions of increasing responsibility as an Industrial Engineer and as an Industrial Engineering Manager during his time with Johnson & Johnson.

The Homestead Festival Lawn Social is an annual event and a major fundraiser for the Homestead Weekend. This year, the event was held on June 12 at the Owen Lovejoy Homestead.
