Grand Marshal - Jeff Hunt

The Homestead Committee is delighted to announce that Mr. Jeff Hunt of Princeton, has been confirmed as the Grand Marshal for the Bureau County Homestead Festival Parade. With this year’s theme, “Let Your Dreams Take Flight,” the parade will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

Mr. Hunt has deep ties to the Princeton community, having moved to the area in 1978 and graduated from Princeton High School in 1983. He earned his degree in Finance, with a minor in Microbiology, from Western Illinois University with honors in 1987. Mr. Hunt has had a distinguished career in banking, beginning with the FDIC in Chicago and continuing at Commercial National Bank in Peoria. In 1992, he returned to Princeton to work at a new bank opening in Princeton, later known as Princeton Banking Centre, later known as the a branch of the 1st National Bank of Manlius.

Currently employed at Central Bank Illinois, Mr. Hunt has been an active member of the Princeton community since 1992. He has dedicated his time and talents to numerous

organizations and events, including the Princeton Ambassadors, Princeton Elks Lodge, and Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Hunt has been very active and dedicated to the work of Princeton Rotary, serving as treasurer and as a member of the Board of Directors. His coaching and volunteer work with local youth sports, Junior Achievement, and Young Life demonstrates his commitment to the next generation of Princeton citizens. In addition, he has been involved with organizations such as the Homestead Committee Steering Committee, Princeton Industrial Commission, Freedom House Foundation, Rotary Club Princeton, and Gateway Foundation.

Mr. Hunt is the proud father of three sons: Brody (28) of Janesville, WI; Mason (27) of Grand Rapids, MI; and Nolan (23) of Manteno, IL.

The Homestead Committee is confident that Mr. Jeff Hunts leadership, dedication, and passion for the Princeton community make him the ideal Grand Marshal for this years Homestead Festival Parade.

2023 Steering Committee We would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your continued support of our Bureau County Homestead Festival! What a fantastic weekend celebration this has become. The Bureau County Homestead Festival began in 1972. It was a celebration to honor Owen Lovejoy and his contributions to our nation’s history. 2023 will mark our 52nd year of this highly anticipated event. Homestead Festival 50/50 Drawing

The Homestead Festival 50/50 Raffle is back!

Last year, we split over $19,000, our goal is to reach more than $50,000 this year. Proceeds from the raffle help support the weekend!

TICKETS ARE 6 TICKETS FOR $5.

Tickets are available from our Steering Committee members Steve & Shellee Monier, Tom & Betsy Kammerer, Michael & Sue Stutzke, Homestead Managers Rick Clary & Rachel Skaggs and several other volunteers.

Look for us at many upcoming community events such as Beef & Ag Days and Princeton Street Concerts throughout the summer.

Tickets may also be purchased all summer long by visiting Central Bank’s Downtown Location here in Princeton, as well as Guys and Gals Salon, Neighborhood Ace Hardware, Wyaton Hills, and the Princeton Chamber of Commerce.

Although you may appear anytime during your allotted time slot, Flyers will be taken in the order they arrive and only up and until the end of their allotted time slot.

$15 per person

Please note that all ticket sales are non-refundable, even in the event of cancellation caused by inclement weather conditions. You can show up anytime during your two hour time slot for a ride. 180 tickets will be sold per time slot and rides will last around 10-15 minutes. Although you may appear anytime during your allotted time slot, Flyers will be taken in the order they arrive and only up and until the end of their allotted time slot.
