At its April 11 meeting, the Sycamore City Council unanimously approved the date of Sunday, July 31, for the annual Fizz Ehrler Memorial Turning Back Time Car Show. The family-oriented event brings thousands of spectators to admire more than 700 trucks, motorcycles and cars that compete for recognition and trophies. Proceeds from the car show are donated to community organizations. Early registration is open and can be completed at turningbackrimecarshow.org. Those who register early will pay an entry fee of $10 rather than the day-of registration fee of $20.

Photo provided by Barb City Automotive Members of DeKalb County NAPA AutoCare Centers of DeKalb County donated a check of $371 to Pay-It-Forward House on April 27. The donation was generated through a portion of oil change sales at participating NAPA centers in DeKalb County, including Archer Alignment, Barb City Auto, Bockman’s Auto Care, Bockman’s Truck and Fleet, Motor Works, University Shell and 3-D Auto Repair. Photo provided by Paul Callighan The Rotary Club of Sycamore recently donated $2,500 to the Spartan Food Pantry to purchase a new commercial freezer. The donation was made possible by a Rotary District 6420 matching grant. The freezer will join two other existing freezer units and expands the capacity at the pantry to receive more meats and produce. The food pantry, located at 520 N. Maple Ave., services families with children in the Sycamore school district. It is open from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays.
