Have you done any of the fan conventions – including the ComicCons – for the “Teen Wolf” series and movie?

Yes. I’ve been lucky enough to go to both the larger San Diego and New York Comic-Cons while the show was on the air, and we always love all of the friends and fans of the show that show up for that. And yes, we have a very strong fandom around the world. We’ve been everywhere from Australia to Italy to Rome to France to all across the world, even Warsaw. There’s a Comic-Con in Warsaw that I was able to go to. And you name a continent and “Teen Wolf” is on it.

How were you received in Poland?

It was amazing. That was one of my favorite trips, actually, just culturally, spiritually to be there. To be at the first Warsaw Comic-Con was pretty special, and it was very well attended and we’re all so very lucky that we’re able to go to these larger Cons and then we can kind of blend fandoms and be able to be with some of the “Game of Thrones” characters, and so that was a lot of fun.

And the fans at these Cons are very well educated and very knowledgeable.

Yes, and I feel like when you create a mythical world, when you create a place like Beacon Hills or when you’re talking about shows like “The Walking Dead,” you have to really honor the spirit of what you create because the fans will know. They’ll figure it out. They’ll be the ones that’ll be like, “Hey, you can’t do that because X, Y, Z.” And I feel like our writers and our creators have a lot of attention to detail to make sure that we keep consistent within our mystique.
