Illinois Valley Community College students and faculty recently competed in an art competition and exhibition at Northern Illinois University.

IVCC’s Jae Ferguson finished third in the digital category with an image entitled “Chicken.”

Earning honorable mention in drawing were Manuel Solano for “Still Life #1,” Michaela Hope Russell for her figure drawing “Resonance,” and Kaya Watson for her figure drawing “Heavy Contemplation.”

Honorable mention in painting went to Torie Larvaire for “Little Moth,” Aurora Castelli for “Dusk,” and Erin Dunlap for “Untitled.”

BARBARA GAIL (WAGENFUHR) ANDERSON

Born: March 1, 1949 in Centralia, Washington

Died: March 12, 2023 in McNabb, Illinois

Barbara Gail (Wagenfuhr) Anderson, 74, of East Dubuque, Illinois passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 in McNabb.

A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date in East Dubuque, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded. Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements. She was born on March 1, 1949 in Centralia, Washington to Graham and Daisy (Frakes) Wagenfuhr.

Barbara was a self-employed truck driver and operator. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was also a past member of the East Dubuque City Council.

Performances will be at 402 E. Silverspoon Ave. in Granville. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $8 for students. PCHS students can attend one performance for free.

Gardening and caring for plants were two of her favorite past times. She also was an avid NASCAR fan.

Survivors include two daughters, Sue Petty of McNabb and Traci (Henry) Interial of Gardner, Kansas; one brother, Jamie Wagenfuhr; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
