Mexican eatery Charro Taco and Bakery opens in Ladd
Ottawa Tropical Sno to reopen announced new, temporary hours.
Tropical Sno Two Rivers, which sells flavored shaved ice and ice cream, reopens Saturday in Ottawa at its two locations, 302 E. Joliet St. and 1002 1st Avenue.
Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
A new Mexican restaurant recently opened in Ladd.
Charro Taco and Bakery, 201 N. Main Ave., celebrated its grand opening with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting. The restaurant features authentic Mexican food and a bakery. Call 815894-8079 for more information.
Princeton business closes after more than 50 years
Bill’s Radiator and Muffler, 127 S. 6th St., Princeton, has closed.
Owner Rich Bartman said his father, Bill, opened the business in 1970 and died in 1983. Bartman decided to keep the business’ name in respect to his father.
He thanked his customers for their support over the years.
Hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Local comic bookstore to celebrate Free Comic Book Day
Metropolis Comics, 1119 Eighth St., La Salle, is participating Saturday in the annual Free Comic Book Day.
Since 2002, Free Comics Book Day has been an event to attract new readers to independent comic bookstores. More than 2,000 comic books participate worldwide.
Metropolis opens at noon Saturday.
