Move over Monopoly, there’s a new board game in town, and this exciting game has connections to a Prophetstown family. “You Decide” was first envisioned by Eric Davidson of Joy, Ill., as a way of reducing screen time for his 13-year-old son Aden. It eventually evolved into a family venture, with a Prophetstown family getting on board – Julie, Berry, and Connor Jacobs have been instrumental to the game’s launch, even setting up a booth at Harvest Days on October 16. Recommended for ages 9+, You Decide is designed as two-player game, but laying two game boards side by side makes it a multi-player party game. Billed as a game where strategy meets luck, the game “brings the luck of rolling the dice and the skill of strategy together.” With dice, pawns, and a game board, players must decide on moves to increase their chances of winning while decreasing their opponent’s chances. The game got a lot of early testing by Aden, an 8th grader, who enjoyed helping his dad playtest the game for days on end. When Eric, a plant manager at IPC in Wilton, IA, would walk through the door after work, Aden would excitedly ask “dad, do you want to play You Decide?!” After about a year of revisions, playtesting by other family members and friends, and nailing down the rules for the game, Eric asked his sister Julie to help with the final design for the game board. Eventually, they both put enough work into it that Eric thought, why not get this thing professionally printed? Eric and his wife Jolene, a customer service rep at IPC and Duncan Township Supervisor, asked Julie and Berry if they’d like to start a board game design company together, and Davidson Games LLC officially launched in February 2020.

You Decide was soon printed by a board game printer overseas, and the family has ordered hundreds of games for their sales and marketing efforts. The company logo is extra special, said Julie, as she designed it using their grandfather Lincoln Davidson’s signature. The four business partners attended numerous vendor events in the past year to introduce You Decide to the crowds, including their hometown festivities. Aden and Connor, 9, have been wonderful salesmen, since they’ve spent many hours playing You Decide, said Julie. The Jacobs moved to Prophetstown in Oct. 2020 after he retired from 20 years of service in the US Army. He’s now a manager of network services at AT&T in Rock
Prophetstown business offering free winter gear Teresa Bielema at Country Financial, 34 Grove St. (next to Dollar General), has set up a coat rack on the porch of her business and is filling it with free winter gear to anyone in need. Stop on by and pick out a new or gently used coat – with adult and kids’ sizes available – or browse the selection of boots, snow pants, hats, gloves, and scarves. Donations are still being accepted, especially men’s and boy sizes, said Teresa, who wants everyone in the community to stay warm this winter. Island, while Julie is a stay-at-home mom who is homeschooling Connor, a 4th grader. He played soccer through the Prophetstown Park District this summer and plans to play basketball this winter. Davidson Games has another board game in the works, with the entrepreneurial family aiming to bring families and friends together with good, old-fashioned board games. At $20, You Decide makes a great gift for recipients of all ages, said Julie. Although it’s only available at Hometown Comics & Games in Greenfield, IN for now, it can be purchased directly at DavidsonGames.com. If located in or near the Quad Cities area, meetup or delivery can be arranged to save on shipping fees.

Rodney and Dorothy Remme of Geneseo, formerly of Prophetstown, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Nov. 24. The couple was married at St. Catherine Church in Prophetstown in 1951. They are currently members of St. Malachy Catholic Church in Geneseo. Their sons are Randy Remme of Colorado and Marty Remme of Maryland. The couple also has five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Dorothy DeMay will be celebrating her 90th birthday on Friday, Dec. 10. Dorothy Tegeler was born on Dec. 10, 1931 to John and Callie Tegeler on her grandparents farm in rural Fenton. She married Gene DeMay on Oct. 8, 1950. They Dorothy DeMay had 68 years together before he passed away on June 17, 2019. Dorothy retired from the Morrison Post Office in 1992. Her children are Bob (Deb) DeMay of Ankey, IA and Debbie (Randy) Roe of Clinton, IA, and has seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A family birthday/Christmas party is being planned. Decker home on MCH Foundation’s ‘Holiday Tour of Homes’
The Morrison Community Hospital Foundation’s Holiday Tour of Homes, “The Halls Be Decked!”, is thrilled to introduce the final home that will be lavishly decorated and open for viewing December 2-4. Thursday night tickets entitle you to stroll through homes without the crowds and then go back to the Morrison Hospital conference room (Kaffee Haus) and enjoy festive meat and cheese trays, and delectable desserts. Thursday night guests will receive a commemorative Christmas ornament. Thursday hours are 4 to 8 p.m. The Kaffee Haus will be open until 9 p.m. Tickets for this exclusive event are for a tax deductible donation of $100 to the MCH Foundation. Friday and Saturday tickets at $12.50 each entitle guests to tour homes from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and return to the Morrison Hospital conference room (Kaffee Haus) for Christmas cookies, coffee, hot chocolate and hot apple cider. The Kaffee Haus will be open for one hour after the homes close each day. Our fourth home featured is the home of Jean Decker at 404 W. Park Street in Morrison. This large two

story home is over 100 years old, although the footprint of this residence has changed a great deal over the years. Current owner Jean Decker is no newcomer to this neighborhood having called 404 W. Park her home for 46 years! Many changes have been made to this residence, many of which took place after a devastating fire nearly destroyed the entire home in 2017. Jean was able to rebuild the existing home which was done beautifully and with painstaking detail towards full restoration. It is once again a
home, full of character, charm and warmth noticeable the instant one enters. Purchased from Lena Dykhuizen, Jean raised her children in this home and have adapted some of the four upstairs bedrooms and one downstairs bedroom into other uses. Beautiful Christmas decorations adorn each room of the house, including her lovely screened-in porch and patio. Twenty-five trees of varying sizes can be found inside and out. Her living room tree boasts all handmade ornaments, some made by her children
many years ago, which are still displayed year after year. The family room tree is decorated exclusively with family ornaments making this a tree full of memories treasured each year. Jean’s home can be described as looking at a “Country Living” magazine with all decorations beautifully and meticulously displayed “just right.” Viewers will be amazed at her gift of artistry in knowing just how to decorate. This home, in addition to the homes of Dale Belt and Lori Neighbour, Rich and Lynelle Criss and Loren and Connie Tenboer, will be featured. Quilt and afghan donated for MCH Tour of Homes silent auction The Morrison Community Hospital Foundation is pleased to showcase two of the items that have been donated to the board for use at its upcoming Silent Auction taking place now until the Holiday Tour of Homes Dec. 2-4. Special thanks to the River Cities Quilters’ Guild for the generous donation of a beautiful quilt for the
silent auction. This quilt will easily cover a queen size bed with a footboard or fully cover a full mattress. Special thanks to Country at Heart, Rock Falls, for the discounted fabric used in this quilt. Also featured in this silent auction is a beautiful hand-knitted afghan with two coordinating pillows. This afghan took donor Cornelia Drolema nearly
eight months to complete, featuring several different stitch patterns. Truly an heirloom, this afghan and pillows will provide warmth during cold days. Born: March 8, 1932 in Hollis, OK Died: November 15, 2021 in Port Byron, IL Alvin L. Baxter, 89, of Port Byron, IL, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 at his home. Services were held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Countryside Christian Church, Port Byron. Visitation was Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron. Burial was in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to Countryside Christian Church, or Unity Point Hospice. Alvin was born on March 8. 1932 in Hollis, OK. to Stephen and LeeAnnie (Cornutt) Baxter. He was a veteran, serving in the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. On September 1, 1956 Alvin married Shirley Breeden in Rapids City, IL. He worked for over 30 years as a pipe fitter for John Deere, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Countryside Christian Church for 63 years, serving as an elder for several years. He was

Marian passed away peacefully at her home in San Jose, California at the age of 97. She was born at home, on a farm, near Morrison, Illinois, to Henry and Freda Mennenga. By age 10, she was driving horses on a hay rack and pulling a loader to stack hay with her grandfather, Louis Mennenga. She attended McElrath Grade School and then Morrison High School for two years and graduated with the class of 1942 from Sterling Township High School. After high school she attended Dixon Beauty School and became a beautician in Rock Falls, where she lived with her grandmother, Jennie Landheer. She moved to Colorado and then to Seattle, Washington, where she met her husband to be, Swan Swanson (USMC) at the USO. They married on September 1, 1945 in Portland,

Oregon. She and Swan moved to Sunnyvale, California where they raised 2 children, Gloria and Paul, and Swan worked for United Airlines. While in Sunnyvale she worked as a secretary for the Sunnyvale School District. In her spare time she enjoyed playing golf (3 holes in one), lunches with her friends from St. Mark Lutheran Church and United Air Lines Retiree Group, reading romance novels, crocheting and sitting on her deck soaking up the California sun. When family from Sweden and Illinois visited California she enthusiastically showed them around San Francisco, Sausalito, Napa Valley wineries, Big Basin State Park, and Fisherman’s Wharf. She is survived by her daughter Gloria Swanson of San Jose, CA., her sister Vera Stutzke of Sterling, niece Cheryl Stutzke of Bartlett, IL., nephew Kurt (Elisa) Stutzke of Sterling, and other great nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her husband Swan Swanson (2004), parents Henry and Freda Mennenga, and brother-in-law Edwin “Bud” Stutzke. Born: September 30, 1931 in Cambridge Died: November 14, 2021 in Rockford, IL Ruth Sylvia Thompson, 90, of Tampico, died Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford. Ruth was born on September 30, 1931 in Cambridge, IL, the daughter of Myrlin and Louise (Simpson) Countryman. She married Jack D. Thompson on December 13, 1953 in Hooppole, IL. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2003. Ruth was a registered nurse and worked as a nurse until becoming a full time farm wife. She worked right alongside of her husband on the farm and continued doing the farm books on the computer until her death. She was a true matriarch who centered her life around her family and always made the most out of what they had. Ruth was an excellent cook and wonderful baker. She was active in her community, and loved playing dominos on Thursday nights. She was an active member of the Tampico United Methodist Church, where she played the piano and organ until she was 85. She
was also a member of the Tampico Historical Society, the Royal Neighbors and president of the Martha Circle at church. Ruth had a love for music, an interest in genealogy, was an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening. She loved traveling with her family to new places and to visit relatives. Ruth was proud to have just celebrated her 90th birthday. She will always be remembered for her kindness and love for others. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela (Lary) Pfeiffer of Moline, IL and Beth (Frank) Stella of Palatine, IL; one son, Duane Thompson of Tampico, IL; two grandchildren, Nichole (Chad) Versluis and Renee (Adam) Hull; four great grandchildren, Patrick and Andrew Versluis and Lillian and Mason Hull; two brothers, Conrad (Martha) Countryman of Prophetstown and David (Shelley) Countryman of St. Charles, IL; and one brother in law, Robert Thompson of Sterling, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, November 22, 2021 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Erie. Burial was at the Kingsbury Cemetery, rural Erie. Hein was born on September 9, 1923 to Earl Jacob Hein and Lula Anna (Young) Hein in Portland Township, Whiteside County, IL. Mary attended Burke, a one room elementary school near her home. She graduated from Erie High School in 1940 and from Mercy School of Nursing in 1944. On March 3, 1945, she married Lt. Robert Willis Blean in Kingman, AZ, where he was stationed as an Army Air Corps pilot.
After the end of WW II the couple returned to the Erie area where Robert farmed for many years. Mary was a busy homemaker and, while raising six children, found time to help with the American Cancer drive, serve as an election judge and hospice volunteer, be a school nurse, play golf and bridge, join a book club, watch many Cubs games and host numerous family meals. Before Robert’s death, the couple enjoyed many travel adventures. Mary was an active member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Erie her entire life. Mary is survived by six children: Anne Farrell, Davenport, IA, Michael (Marcia) Blean, Morrison IL, John (Diane) Blean, Pleasant Plains, IL, Jo Ellen (Marshall) Vandruff, Laguna Hills, CA, Ted (Dawn) Blean, Prophetstown, IL, and Sarah (Marlon) Ray, Edwardsville, IL. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Jennifer Klein, Julia Johnson, Tim Farrell, Matthew Blean, Molly Kemmer, John Blean, Michael Blean, Craig Blean, Mark Blean, Tom Blean, Christine Hall, Rembrandt VanDruff, and by twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 2007, sister Cecelia Hartzell, brothers Wayne Hein and Richard Hein. The family is especially grateful for the very kind care from the Resthave staff shown to Mary during her time living there.

JOANNE “JODY” ROBINSON, 75, of Prophetstown, IL, died Friday, November 19, 2021, at Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling, IL. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, November 29, 2021, at the Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown, IL, with Pastor Marcus Johnson of Lake Region Bible Church in Round Lake, IL, officiating. There will be a visitation from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, November 28, 2021, at the Bosma- Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. A memorial has been established. Jody was born November 5, 1946, in Salem, OR to Stuart “Bud” and Georgianne “Pud” (Mathis) Thede. She was educated in the Prophetstown Grade Schools and was a 1964 graduate of Prophetstown High School. She married Thomas A. Robinson in Sycamore, IL, on April 20, 1967. He died on May 23, 2001. Jody worked at the ECHO Office for nearly twenty-five years. She also worked at
Prophet Gear in Prophetstown and at the Bike Barn for over seventeen years. Jody cherished spending time with her family and friends. She loved cooking for others and looked for every opportunity to share the gospel message, our hope in Christ. In life, the more she was able to give the happier she was. Everyone knew her by her open arms, warm hugs and the sparkle in her eyes as she greeted friends and family. Nobody was a stranger. Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth (Tom) Green of Prophetstown, IL and Leslie Robinson of Prophetstown, IL; two sons, Stanley “Jason” (Julie) Robinson of Geneseo, IL and Mark (Christy) Sayers of Jasper, AL: ten grandchildren, Joshua (Annie) Green and Jonah Green, Jonathan (Ally Bryan) Olson and Rebekah (Andrew Fowkes) Olson, Daniel, Thomas, Samuel, and Benjamin Robinson, Kara Sayers and Casey Brennan (Kaley) Sayers; six great-grandchildren, Elyse Green, Anthony, Aiden and A.J. Allan M. VanDeMark on October 19, 1947, in Prophetstown. He died on May 9, 2014. Rita was employed by Green River in Amboy during the war where she made grenades. She later worked as a hairdresser at Marge’s Beauty Shop and Glady’s Beauty Shop in Prophetstown until opening her own home hair salon. Rita was a former member of the Prophetstown Methodist Church. She loved animals, especially dogs, and See’s Candies. Rita enjoyed crafting, playing BINGO and she enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs play baseball. Survivors include four nieces, Susan (Jim) Weeks of Sterling, IL, Carol (Tim) Hillary of Winter WI, Rebecca Ecett of Center View, WI, and Linda (Eric) Jacobs of Burbank, CA; two nephews, Douglas (Lori) VanDeMark of Geneva, IL, and Tom (Cindy) Randall of Ventura, CA; several great and great-great nieces and nephews. He served in Vietnam as a Helicopter Pilot at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He married Ginnie Gaustad in 1976 and they had two children. Larry worked in the pipeline industry for many years, first with Murphy Brothers as Vice President and corporate pilot and later on with Continental Fabrication Services and Michels Corporation. The 36th annual Prophetstown Lighted Christmas parade is coming back after being canceled last year due to Covid-19, and Light Up the Park is also returning to Prophetstown State Park after a successful 2020 debut. The “Candyland” themed parade sponsored by Hanford Insurance will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, in the downtown. Check in and lineup will be at 5:15 p.m. on West Railroad St. and Lafayette St., with access to the lineup area from Locust St. and West Third St. Parking on Main St. will be closed during the afternoon. Participants can register their entries at prophetstownproud.com or find a link on their Facebook page. 1961: New junior high building formally dedicated 60 Years

Dr. G. Dempster Yinger, pastor of First Methodist Church in Clinton, spoke to the Kiwanis Club of his recent trip to Norway. He commented, for every 100 people in the U. S. there are 34 automobiles, compared to eight per 100 in western Europe. For every 100 Americans with 30 TV sets, Europe has six, and 98 American’s with radios to Europe’s 34. Western Europe leads the United States in the production of steel and cement, but its hourly wage for industrial workers averages only 80 cents compared to $2.77 in the United States. The new Fulton Junior High School building, completed last September at a cost of nearly half a million dollars, will be dedicated formally at special ceremonies. The key to the building will be presented formally by Charles Prout of Prout, Mugasis and Johnson, architects who designed and supervised construction, and will be accepted by Dr. Donald Madson, superintendent of the Fulton schools.

Soon after the disaster at the World Trade Center in New York on Sept. 11, and the possibility of enduring more terrorism, all Lock and Dam installations were closed to visitors. Barricades at Lock and Dam 13 limited access only to a parking lot giving vis-
itors room to turn around and exit. The heavy restrictions have been eased somewhat and visitors are now allowed to travel nearly to the water. The Early American Crafters at Heritage Canyon have a special treat planned for their Second Annual Illuminated Evening Christmas Walk. This year you can travel back in time through the time warp gates into the small village of Heritage Canyon, paths will be lantern lit and buildings glowing with natural light. Villagers will be going about their Christmas Eve preparations, but visitors will not exist.

Discussing carpal tunnel syndrome’s diagnosis and treatment By STEPHEN D. HARRISON, M.D. Carpal tunnel syndrome is one of the common conditions causing tingling in the hands and fingers. The term arises from a nerve that is compressed or irritated frequently as it passes through one of the body’s tunnels near the wrist – that tunnel being identified as the carpal tunnel. As the nerve becomes irritated or com pressed, it produces attacks of numbness and tingling of the hands and fingers, particularly at night. There also may be associated pain running up the forearm. The condition may progress to weakness, as well as awkwardness in the movements of the fingers.
The syndrome is frequently caused by conditions that have the wrist in a constant flexed position, such as typing and other repetitive tasks in which the wrist is flexed or the hand is required to bend in a constant gripping position. Operating a power drill may produce the condition from two aspects – the grip and the flexion, as well as the constant trauma, causing irritation. The symptoms often are felt at night because most of us sleep with our hands and wrists in a flexed position further pinching the nerve. Other conditions that may be associated with the condition include arthritis, occasionally gout and even pregnancy. There are a few other rare conditions, such as sarcoidosis, which
are uncommon causes. The diagnosis often can be made by flexing the wrist for a prolonged period and seeing if the symptoms are reproduced. If more extensive testing is necessary, your doctor may order a test called EMG, which will measure nerve conduction. What about treatment? First, if there is an underlying condition causing this, treating the underlying condition may help relieve the symptoms of the carpal tunnel syndrome. Anti-inflammatory agents also are commonly employed. Avoiding the trauma and work environment causing it may be helpful; however, that is not always practical. Many people find they can still perform their tasks
by wearing a splint at night. In some of the more advanced cases, the splint may be helpful to wear during the day or even on the job. Sometimes specialists will inject steroids into the area around the wrist in hopes of taking down enough inflammation around the nerve. This does not have longterm success but it may be something to consider before surgery. If the condition becomes severe, it may require surgery. Exercises also have shown hope as an alternative treatment. A chiropractor may assist as it helps to change the structure of the impingement. Also, yoga interestingly has shown some potential. These likely work by taking pressure off the nerve.

announced that Pre-K and elementary students will be in remote learning on Tuesday, Nov. 23. They already have the rest of the week off for Thanksgiving. Middle and high school students
were not affected. “Please understand that I do not take this decision lightly, but with this dramatic spike in active positive cases just in the Elementary building alone,
we will move them to a remote setting. Hopefully, this pause will allow things to calm down,” wrote Milem. A return to in-person learning is planned for Monday, Nov. 29.

Revitalize Erie preps for Hometown Holiday BY SARAH FORD For Shaw Media
Revitalize Erie volunteers spent a few hours working in the Triangle on Saturday, Nov. 20, readying the downtown for next weekend’s Hometown Holidays festivities. Members of the Beautification Committee put up lights and seasonal decorations, swapped out the fall décor in the wooden planters around the Triangle, and decorated some of the building windows with ornaments and wreaths. Volunteer Kayla Bohms said Saturday’s work was the “transition to make it look nice for the season,” with Erie Middle School students to decorate and color the rest of the business windows this week. Bohms said Revitalize Erie will have to go to Plan B after realizing the netting lights for the large ever-
green in the Triangle didn’t work. The plan is to bring in another, smaller Christmas tree for the tree-lighting. Revitalize Erie’s Hometown Holidays will be on Saturday, Dec. 4, with festivities to include: Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, make an ornament, write a letter to Santa, craft a Christmas card, play reindeer games, and win prizes at the Erie Fire Station from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. Enjoy a warm meal at the Erie United Methodist Church Soup Supper, located in Wesleyan Hall, from 4 – 6:30 p.m. All donations will benefit church missions. Dan Crownhart is not like a kid in a candy store. He’s more like a kid who owns his very own candy store. Crownhart, second-generation owner of Sterling Fence and an avid drag racer, is about to be the new owner of the historic Cordova International Raceway, after his racing enterprise, Dan and Shelly Crownhart’s 1320 Promotions, reached an unspecified agreement with the current owner, International Race Group. IRG bought the raceway, then called Cordova Dragway Park, 7 years
ago this month. It’s a quarter-mile, International Hot Rod Association member track. The announcement of new ownership was posted recently on Cordova’s Facebook page. The sale will be finalized in a few weeks, he said. “We’re in excited for the opportunity there. We’re hoping to embrace the history of the track and just bring friend and family and fans back,” Crownhart said, sheer delight in his voice. “It’s been dream of mine for more than 20 years.” The Sterling native, who has been racing funny cars more than 25 years,
will be running the day-to-day operations at the 65-year-old track at 19425 state Route 84 N. “Cordova has always been a special place for racers and fans,” he said in the post. “We all have fond memories of our time at the track. I am confident we can celebrate the long history of Cordova and create a bright future simultaneously.” Perhaps most famously for race fans, the 190-acre park is home to the world’s longest continually running drag-racing event, the World Series of Drag Racing, which has drawn up to 20,000 spectators in recent years. Crownhart and his wife, Shelly,
have many plans for their new playground – facility upgrades, new events, the sportsman racing series, and a meet-and-greet for racers and fans early next year. “In the spirit of past major events of the [United Drag Racers Association] and IHRA being held in June, we are excited to announce that Funny Car Chaos will be a part of the return of the Summer Nationals contest June 17 & 18,” he posted. “We are expecting more than 30 supercharged nitro and alcohol funny cars to compete in a no-holds-barred format that will surely become a premier annual event here at Cordova.”

B.L.I.N.D. has impacted me by showing me that no one is alone. Everyone is going through something and there is always someone that you can find that will be there for you. It has helped me to feel like I’m able to help other people, by showing them I am a person they could always come to if needed - and being that person in someone’s life feels amazing to know you were approachable and able to make them feel like they are important and worth being here.
What advice would you give to freshmen
that would encourage them to pursue becoming a B.L.I.N.D. leader?
I would encourage them to become a B.L.I.N.D. leader because not only are you more involved but you are helping other people. I feel like B.L.I.N.D. overall, can really open your eyes and see the important things in life. You gain confidence and it overall just makes you feel really good about yourself knowing that you are helping people.
If you were given $1,000, what would you do with it?
If I was given $1000, I would probably donate, help out family members in
need, and save some for my own future, like college.
If there was something you could do to change the world, what would it be?
If there was something I could do to change the world I think it would be human greediness. People are so self-centered and rude towards others. I would change this so that people are more considerate of other people’s wants and feelings.
What is your claim to fame?
My claim to fame is being super clumsy and injured 99% of the time.

Thanksgiving Eve service at Emmanuel Reformed Church Join the Emmanuel family for a very special Thanksgiving Eve service to be held Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. This will be a very different service than a typical Sunday morning using a special video, a skit, as well as brief meditations by Pastor Luke centered around the Thanksgiving theme. Exaltation will lead worship using Shout to the Lord, Stronger and You Are Good. The Sanctuary Choir will sing We Will Remember. Rich Criss will provide the prelude and postlude. Plan to join us on Sunday, Nov. 28 and feel free to come a little early and grab a cup of coffee in the Welcome Center before going into the sanctuary for the 9 a.m. worship service. All are welcome and are reminded that Emmanuel Church is a “come as you are” family and dress clothes are certainly not necessary. Pastor Brion Brooks will be the guest pastor while Pastor Luke is with family in Florida. Crosswalk will lead the worship set. Ministry Coordinator Rich Criss will lead the
worship set and will serve as organist for the service. The Sanctuary Choir will sing “Yahweh”. Sunday School for children pre-school through high school is held following worship until 11 a.m. Coffee and fellowship for the adults also follow worship in the Christ Center.
