Fulton 48, Aquin 37: The Steamers remained undefeated, slowly pulling away for an NUIC win on Stan Borgmann Court.
Ian Wiebenga’s 16 points paced Fulton (5-0), which led 17-14 after one quarter, 30-25 at halftime and 39-29 through three periods. Baylen Damhoff added 10 points, and Ethan Price scored nine for Fulton.
Fulton 54, Byron 37: The Steamers topped the Tigers at the Eastland Shootout in Lanark, rallying from an 18-11 deficit in the opening quarter to take the lead with a 13-2 scoring edge in the second.
Baylen Damhoff finished with 15 points for Fulton (6-0), while Ian Wiebenga had 11, Ethan Price scored nine, and Jacob Jones added eight.
Girls basketball
Sherrard 68, Morrison 48: The Fillies suffered their first loss of the season in their Three Rivers West opener at home. They were outscored 26-14 in the third quarter after trailing 29-22 at halftime.
Shelby Veltrop had 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Jordan Eads and Camryn Veltrop both scored 12 points. Camryn Veltrop had seven rebounds and four assists, and Eads added four steals for Morrison (5-1).
Forreston 35, Fulton 27: The Cardinals trailed 17-15 at halftime, but outscored the Steamers 11-5 in the third quarter and 9-5 in the fourth in an NUIC East win at home.
Reese Dykstra had eight points to pace Fulton.
Wrestling
Morrison splits at home: The Mustangs had two duals that ended in 48-18 scores. They defeated Mendota and fell to Oregon.
Heavyweight Nathan Schaefer had two first-period pins for Morrison. Zach Milder (138 pounds), Logan Baker (152) and Cameron McDonnell (195) all had first-period pins against Mendota. Camden Pruis (126) and Kayden White (182) won by pin against Oregon.
Fulton spilts in Sherrard: The Steamers beat St. Bede 42-30, but fell to the host Tigers 48-24 in a triangluar.
Fulton won six matches by pin against the Bruins and got two pins against Sherrard. Zane Pannell recorded two first-period pins as the Steamers’ lone double-winner in contested matches.
Boys bowling
Hall 2,344, Erie-Prophetstown 2,202: The Panthers dropped a Three Rivers East dual in Spring Valley, falling by 19 pins in each of the first two games before the Red Devils won the third game 791-687.
Michael Miner opened his team-high 559 series with a team-best 213 game for E-P. Shawn Chandler (439 series), Bryce VanDeWostine (342), Robert Winters (315), Keith Goodson (294) and Dom Bray (253)
Girls bowling Oregon Hawk Invite
The Erie-Prophetstown girls bowling team placed seventh with a 3,536 at the Oregon Hawk Invite on Saturday at Plum Hollow Lanes in Dixon.

Football Three Rivers names all-conference teams
The Three Rivers Conference announced its football all-conference teams Nov. 30.
In the West Division, Erie-Prophetstown’s Jaesan Gaylord (senior T), Nick Ballard (senior DL), Trevor Cabo (senior DB) and Jase Grunder (junior return specialist) were all unanimous selections. E-P seniors Connor Sibley (RB), Mason Misfeldt (flex and LB) and Grunder (LB) were also first-teamers.
Morrison’s lone first-team pick was sophomore punter Carson Strating.
Local second-teamers were E-P’s Clay Hockaday (junior G and DL), Kolby Franks (senior QB) and Sibley (senior LB), along with Morrison’s Aaron Freeman (senior T), Strating (sophomore RB), Tyler Shambaugh (senior DL) and Chase Newman (sophomore DB).
Honorable mention picks from the area were E-P’s Max Vahle (senior C), Ballard (senior T), Cobo (Senior E) and Elijah Friedrichsen (senior DL).
NUIC names all-conference teams
Fulton’s Brock Mason (offensive end) and Ryan Eads (utility) were second-team picks.
Honorable mention selections were Fulton’s Patrick Lower (quarterback), Jacob Jones (running back), Braiden Damhoff (offensive line), Zach Dykstra (center), Baylen Damhoff (offensive end), Kole Schipper (defensive line) and Joey Huizenga (defensive line).
