FULTON – Gene A. Klimstra, 91, of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at his home.
Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Fulton is handling arrangements.
WAYNE D. HUIZENGA
FULTON – Wayne D. Huizenga, 81, of Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Bickford of Clinton in Clinton, IA. His funeral service was held 10:30 AM Monday, June 28, 2021, at the Newton Zion Reformed Church in rural Erie, IL, with Rev. Shannon Parrish officiating.
Visitation was from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, June 27, 2021, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL.
Memorials have been established to Newton Zion Reformed Church and Fulton EMS.
Wayne was born August 21, 1939, in Clinton, IA, to Cornelius and Alice (Zeeryp) Huizenga. He was educated in the Garden Plain Grade School and was a graduate of Fulton High School in Fulton, IL. Wayne served in the National Guard. He married Nancy Tegeler on October 20, 1961, at Newton Zion Reformed Church. Wayne was first employed at Clinton Corn in Clinton, IA. He later owned and operated Huizenga Insurance Agency in Fulton, IL. Then in 1988, he merged with Cliff Wierenga Insurance Agency forming Huizenga and Wierenga Insurance Agency. Wayne retired on August 1, 2001. He was a member of Newton Zion Reformed Church where he served as an elder and deacon. Wayne enjoyed feeding the birds and watching the wildlife in the backyard. He coached baseball for many years in Fulton. He loved his ‘56 Chevy Convertible and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Wayne’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially attending all the grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; one daughter, Laura Tabor of Cusseta, AL; three sons, Steven (Natalie) Huizenga of Hayward, WI; David (Traci) Huizenga and Randall (Tanya) Huizenga both of Fulton, IL; five grandchildren, Ashleigh Hankins, Tyler Hankins, Racheal Huizenga, Joshua Huizenga, and Joseph Huizenga; one step grandson, Timothy (Veronica) Leary; one step great-grandson, Lucas Leary; and one brother, Kenneth J. (Helga) Huizenga of Fulton, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ella Mae Bielema.

FULTON – Dalbert E. Temple, 94, of Fulton, IL, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Alverno Care Facility in Clinton, IA. His funeral service was held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, IL, with Rev. Kevin VerHoeven, officiating. Visitation was from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, June 25, 2021, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Fulton Township Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to Rehoboth Christian Indian Mission School and Bethel Christian Reformed Church - Memorial Garden.
Dalbert was born June 3, 1927, in Fulton, IL, to David and Jennie (Huizenga) Temple. He was educated in the Fulton Community Christian School and was a 1945 Graduate of Fulton High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Quartermaster Corp during World War II. He married Joyce I. Huizenga on August 31, 1948, in Fulton, IL. She died March 2, 1998. He later married Jean E. (Engelkens) Cain on April 8, 2006, in Fulton, IL. Dalb was employed as a supervisor traveling mechanic and pipefitter by the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad for 44+ years, wearing his white hat proudly, until retiring in 1989. Dalb was a charter member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton and served as elder and catechism teacher. He also served as a member of the finance and building committees for past church building projects and the church’s “Young at Hearts” Bible Study Group. Dalb considered his membership and service at the church as a “truly rewarding experience?”. Dalb served as a volunteer at the Rehoboth Christian Indian Mission School in Rehoboth, NM, and served several terms on the Unity Christian School Board in Fulton. Dalb was a member of the NARVE (National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees, INC). He enjoyed traveling and camping with his family, he loved baseball and was an avid Cubs fan.
Dalb cherished his children and step children and spending time with them and their families.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; four daughters, Sharon (Dr. Gordon) Renkes of Columbus, OH, Sandra (Gary) Poskin of Clinton, IA, Sheila (Don) Dykstra of Fulton, IL, and Susan Temple of Morrison, IL; one step daughter, Beth (Kevin) Short of Camanche, IA; one step son, Thomas (Eileen) Cain of Oregon, IL; one step daughter-in-law, Lori Cain of Cayuga, IN; eleven grandchildren, Nathan (Beth Marland) Renkes, Rachel (Bob) Concitis, Jennifer (Chad) Schmidt, Cindy (Josh) Krogmann, Carissa (Matt) Johnson, Lana (Dave) Poskin-Klod, Andrea (Scott) Eggers, Elizabeth (Eric) Berns, Samantha (John) Sterenberg, Rebecca (Cole) Kramer and Matthew (Brittany) VanDrew; nineteen great-grandchildren, Kristin Marland, Spencer, Sidney and Paul Renkes, Bradley and Rebekah Concitis, Alexis, Kayla and Jayden Krogmann, Breanna Tschantz and Emily Eggers, Gavin and Ella Berns, Jeremiah Sterenberg, Dominick, Paisley and Kennedy Kramer, Waylon, Jacob and Brayden, VanDrew; two great-great-grandchildren, Jordyn Cady and Lucy Tschantz; eight step grandchildren, Melissa Bowers, Brian Cain, Jonathan Cain, Candace (Jeremy) Marquis, Emily Cook, Lucas Short, Matt Short, Megan Oksana-Cain.; eight step great-grandchildren, Brayden and Brooklyn Bowers, Kylie Witman, Gony, Sarah, and Aaliyah Tim, Harper Bagg and Alexis Cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joyce; one brother, Ronald Temple; one step son, Phillip Cain; one step grandsonin-law, Scott Bowers.

MOLINE – John Elmer Lundquist, 73, of Hillsdale, IL, died Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline. There will be no public services. Memorials may be made to the Hillsdale United Methodist Church, PO Box 66, Hillsdale, IL, 61257, to be designated for landscaping and lawn care. Gibson - Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron, is handling the arrangements.
John was born January 21, 1948 in Rock Island, Illinois. He was the son of Elmer and Mabel (Woodburn) Lundquist. John graduated from Riverdale High School in the class of 1966. Following graduation, he served his country in the US Army. Upon his honorable discharge from the service, he attended and graduated from Austin Peay State University. John spent most of his life in Hillsdale as a farmer. He was united in marriage to Jane Fillmer in October of 1989 in the Chapel at Heritage Canyon in Fulton, IL. In addition to farming, John joined the International Union of Operating Engineers in 1995 and operated heavy equipment until retiring in 2014. Upon retirement, he continued to farm and also took pride in owning and operating his own mowing business.
Surviving are his wife Jane, of Hillsdale; daughter, Erryn of Tennessee; son, Jonathon of Chicago; and two grandchildren in Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
