They live on a farm located outside of Amboy and enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Mike Sullivan of Sterling will celebrate his 75th birthday July 7, 2018. He taught auto mechanics and the Cooperative Work program at Whiteside Area Vocational Center from 1968 to 1997, and served as Sterling’s athletic director for 3 years before retiring in 2002. He also coached Sterling High School’s boys and girls cross-country teams, and was an assistant boys track coach for distance runners from 1970 to 1997. After retiring, he coached Sauk Valley Community College cross country teams for 16 sea-
sons, and officiated track meets throughout Northern Illinois. He has worked the last 4 years as part-time supervisor in the Rock Falls High School Alternative program, to assist young people finishing their course credits. Mike is married, has three children, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He has been active in church, and enjoys boating and spending time with his family. As a special way to preserve these memorable occasions, quarter-, halfor full-page announcements can be purchased. Paid announcements are determined by word count: no more than 125 words for a quarter page, no more than 250 words for a half page, and up to 340 words for a full page. Those paying for announcements will have the opportunity to proof them before publication. Customers will be called when the announcement is ready to be proofed. At that time, any corrections or additions can be made as needed at SVM’s Dixon and Sterling offices. For convenience, proofs will be emailed without calls whenever possible.
