Pace, M.D., son of Michael and Babette Clayton of Byron, grandson of Donald and Sharon Sivits, formerly of Dixon, married Meredith Skala, daughter of David and Kimberly Skala of Oak Lawn on Oct. 13, 2018, at Watch Tower Lodge in Rock Island. The couple reside in Philadelphia, where Devon is completing his residency at Thomas Jefferson Hospital, and Meredith is teaching at The Philadelphia School.

Melvin Leffelman will celebrate his 90th birthday with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at St. Patrick Parish Hall in Amboy. Melvin was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Maytown. He farmed in the Nelson, Walton and Maytown areas all of his life. He married Marjorie Ely on Feb. 11, 1950. She has since passed away. They have two children, Dan (Janelle) Leffelman and Julie (Denny, deceased) Brechon. He
has three grandchildren, Rachel ( Jordan) Plock and Miranda and Cordell Leffelman; and one great-grandchild, Paisley Plock. He later married Sue Morrissey (deceased). As a special way to preserve these memorable occasions, quarter-, halfor full-page announcements can be purchased. Photos may be submitted in color or black and white, and in any size. Emailed photos should be in JPEG format with a resolution of 200 and a width of at least 5 inches for best quality. Sauk Valley Media is not responsible for errors due to unreadable information. A daytime phone number and email address (if available) are requested to help to ensure accuracy. Happy Birthday Mary Jane Meyers Mary Jane Meyers, retired teacher, will be 95 years young Nov. 11, 2018, and will celebrate with a card shower. The omission of gifts is requested. Mary Jane grew up on the family farm outside of Dixon. Upon graduating from Dixon High School in 1941, she attended Northern Illinois University, where she received her teaching degree. Mary Jane returned to Dixon and taught at Garrison, Oak Ridge and Hill rural schools, and later, Prairieville School. After her marriage to Ed Meyers, Mary Jane became a substitute teacher in the Dixon area school system, retiring with 35 years of dedicated public service in Lee County schools.
Mary Jane was married to the late Bud Mumford and the late Ed Meyers. Mary Jane has been a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dixon and loved singing in the choir. She is an active member with Dixon Homemaker’s Extension, 4-H Youth Fair, and Daughters of the American Revolution. Her hobbies over the years include flower gardening, cooking, oil painting, flower arranging and crafts. Spending time with family is her favorite activity.
