Travel by bike, car or on foot to some of the best events in communities located along the Fox River. Discover delicious foods, move your feet to fantastic music and enjoy time outside with friends and family at these must-go events. WINE ON THE FOX May 7-8, Hudson Crossing Park, Oswego www.wineonthefox.com Raise a glass to delicious regional wines. The event includes food from local spots and live entertainment — it’s a great opportunity to sip in the outdoors and raise money for the Oswego community. The event is free! MARGARITAS EN MAYO May 26, downtown Yorkville www.yorkville.il.us The biggest debate will be whether you prefer to rim the glass with salt or sugar at this fun event hosted in downtown Yorkville. And where there are margaritas, there will also be delicious food to enjoy.

FIRST FRIDAYS June 3, downtown Aurora www.auroradowntown.org The monthly event features live music, food and beverage specials at local restaurants, food trucks and the perfect chance to visit local shops, too.

PRAIRIEFEST June 16-19, PrairieFest Park, Oswego www.prairiefest.com An entire weekend of entertainment and festival fare awaits you at PrairieFest. Between the live music, business expo and carnival rides, you can’t go wrong at this annual event. SWEDISH DAYS June 22-26, downtown Geneva www.genevachamber.com/ festivals-events/swedish-days Learn about Swedish traditions and attend a lively parade at Geneva’s well-known summer festival. Last year’s event included Swedish dancing, an exhibit on Vikings, a carnival and more.

COCKTAILS IN THE PARK July 23, Appleton Park, Batavia www.downtownbatavia.com/ event/cocktails-in-the-park This is one of the biggest fundraisers for Batavia MainStreet, which puts on a multitude of local events each year. The night includes live music and delicious cocktails; what more could you want?

FESTIVAL OF THE VINE Sept. 9-11, downtown Geneva www.genevachamber.com/ festivals-events/festival-of-the-vine The multiday event features wines and food and is one of the local favorites. See the website for advance tickets. AUTUMN ON THE FOX Oct 7-9, Pottawatomie Park, St. Charles www.artoftheheartland.com/ autumnonthefox.html This three-day art show on the banks of the Fox features artists in a variety of mediums. With the beautiful park location, it’s a great venue for a picnic and family fun too.
