2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD he Chevrolet Silverado HD is all-new for 2020. It’s been redesigned inside and out and it also gets all-new engines under the hood. Silverado 2500 and 3500 HD is
a heavy-duty truck that seats 3 to 5 passengers depending on configuration. Competitors include the Ford Super Duty, Ram Heavy Duty, and GMC Sierra HD. Rear-wheel-drive is standard with four-wheel-drive being optional. There are five different trims available: WT, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country. There are two engines available: A 6.6-liter V8 engine that produces 401 horsepower and pairs to a 6-speed automatic transmission, and a 6.6-liter Duramax Diesel V8 that produce 445 horsepower and mates to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is rated at 35,500 pounds. Available driver-assist technology includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rearview camera with cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights. Pricing ranges from $38,000 to $73,000.

The Chicago Auto Show spans more than 1 million square feet of floor space of the McCormick Place complex. First Look For Charity Poised For Banner Year CHICAGO - The Chicago Auto Show’s 29th annual First Look for Charity black-tie gala will take place on Friday, Feb. 7 from 7-11 p.m. at McCormick Place. A Safe Haven helps Chicagoans experiencing homelessness become self-sufficient through phased housing, healthy lifestyles, and employment. Learn more at www.ASafeHaven.org. A Safe Haven’s Community Food Pantry distributes food to families from neighborhoods in the food desert surrounding the social enterprise’s main campus at 2750 West Roosevelt Road, just 5 miles from the Auto Show. Some of the food also feeds residents at the homeless services organization, which offers comprehensive services to return individuals in crisis to self-sufficiency. The meals served at A Safe Haven are even prepared by residents participating in the food services job training program, one of several such services offered. A Safe Haven placed over 80% of its Food Service trainees into employment last year. Visitors’ canned goods will be held and transported in boxes generously donated by Alan Josephsen Co. Inc. Special guests are expected to stop by the booth, to help raise awareness for the issues of homelessness, unemployment, and addiction. “This is an exciting privilege to participate in A Safe Haven’s Food Drive at the Chicago Auto Show, which I’ve been attending since I was a little boy,” said A Safe Haven resident Wilson Dawes, who volunteered at the booth last year. “A Safe Haven has been like a miracle in my life… Thanks to the Auto Show, so many people will learn about A Safe Haven’s wonderful work.” “Over the past 24 years the Chicago Auto Show has collected over 400,000 pounds of food for A Safe Haven and we believe that the food drive is an important element of the work we do each year in putting on the Auto Show in this great community,” said Dave Sloan, General Manager of the 2020 Chicago Auto Show. CHICAGO – For the first time, Chicago Auto Show organizers have partnered with the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) to host Honda Miles Per Hour, a unique indoor run that guides participants on a 2.4-mile loop through the nation’s largest auto show. The event’s moniker accurately describes the premise of the run, where participants will cover as much distance as possible within a one-hour timeframe. Held on the final Sunday of the show, Feb. 16, runners will compete on a 2.4-mile loop through the halls of McCormick Place where they will experience the Chicago Auto Show before the masses arrive for one of the show’s busiest days. Runners will also have first-rate views of the city skyline as they cross over the Grand Concourse bridge and access to wide glimpses of Lake Michigan through the Lakeside Center’s expansive window walls. The loop will include a variety of long straightaways, some unique zig-zags and even an incline as runners ascend the indoor the bridge over Lake Shore Drive. At Miles Per Hour, the finish line is what runners make it; run as far as possible within one hour while taking in the latest from the automobile industry. Registration includes a race entry, a ticket to the Chicago Auto Show with early access on race day, a participant T-shirt, a participant medal, free digital photo downloads, discounted early access tickets for friends and family, a goodie bag and gear check.
