Shawnee North Community Center is celebrating the 100-year anniversary of the building’s opening! Join us for historical tours, kids’ crafts, and learn about the mystery of the missing cemetery. Time: Noon-4 p.m. Fee: Free
JAN. 14 SHAWNEE NORTH COMMUNITY CENTER GHOST HUNT

Spend an evening with the ghosts of North Topeka, hosted by Ghost Tours of Kansas. This program focuses on local ghost stories and folklore, and finished with a ghost hunt of Shawnee North Community Center. Age: 13+ Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Fee: $16

Grab your flashlight and get ready. Participants will hike the trail to find eggs. After visiting with the Easter Bunny, everyone takes home a bag of goodies. Age: 5-12 yrs. Time: Thur. 8-9 p.m. Fee: $10 per person Pre-registration required Registration deadline: March 29

APRIL 15 POOCHES AND PEEPS
Hills Bark Park, Gage Park
Join Shawnee County Parks and Recreation for our Pooches and Peeps event! Wrap up Easter with your dog in the dog egg hunt pawty at the Hills Bark Park! Each registration includes 10 treat filled eggs and a fun gift! Humans and dogs are pawsitive to have a great time! Dogs must be on leash and will need to register based on weight. Dogs will need to be preregistered as there are limited registration spots available. Dogs must be 6 months or older to participate.
Weight: Small Dogs, Under 35lbs Time: Sat. 9:30-10:30 a.m. Fee: $10 per dog
Weight: Large Dogs, over 35lbs Time: Sat. 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Fee: $10 per dog

Shawnee County Parks + Recreation programs are developed with several goals in mind: · SCP+R strives to promote a healthy active lifestyle through program activities and choices. · Participants develop new skills and abilities. · Staff and instructors provide an emotionally supportive, positive environment. · Programs offer an opportunity to engage in socialization for all ages. · Large motor, fine motor, and cognitive development are promoted through new experiences and peer interaction.

PRESCHOOL
Toddler Open Gym/Space
Preschoolers will get a chance to develop large and fine motor skills while socializing with peers. Adults bringing participants can help provide a supportive environment for exploration of new activities. Equipment provided. Age: 3-5 yrs. Date: Ongoing Fee: Free
