I Can Bike @ Central Park Community Center

Join us for this unique, life-changing recreational program in which each participant with a disability is empowered to maximize their bicycle riding “abilities”. Thirty riders attend five 75-minute sessions for five consecutive days first week of June, helping them lose the training wheels and ride on two wheels. Sixty volunteers serve as bike buddies, spotting and encouraging riders.

RESERVING YOUR SPACE AT A COMMUNITY CENTER & GYM

From meetings and fundraisers to personal events, SCP+R has several facilities and spaces for you to reserve and rent. Explore our many options to find your best location. If you are planning a party or event, we would be happy to reserve it for you. The spaces are perfect for business meetings, staff training, receptions, anniversaries, birthday celebrations, bridal/baby showers and much more. When renting at a community center, you are allowed to bring in your own food and drink.

Gyms are available for sports practices, staff team building, tournaments. Special event rentals can be accommodated in our facilities but may require a special use permit.

Rec+Roll Van

We’re taking fun to the parks, events and even your workplace. Meet you there! Mobile recreation programs make it even easier to bring fun and play to people of all ages and any location. We deliver healthy activities all over town. The Rec+Roll van is outfitted with yard games, balls, hula hoops, disc golf, art and fitness supplies, music and a PA system with microphones. Look for the Rec+Roll van in your neighborhood. A calendar of scheduled appearances is available at parks.snco.us.

SCP+R can also bring the van to your work for adult recess, staff team building for retreats, or fitness programs. This is a great way to add an exciting fitness component to your next work event. Play is for all ages.

Have the Rec+Roll van show up for birthday parties, family events or just a couple hours of fun! Fee: $75 an hour with a two-hour minimum. Staff and equipment included. Call 251.6800.

Celebrate your birthday with a Zumba® Kids Dance Party! Perfect for ages 3-12, the birthday child and their friends can enjoy an hour of dancing, games, and exploring far-away places. Parties should be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. $30 fee for one hour of dancing and games. Choreography and games tailored to younger kids. Do you have a camp idea but no facility? Central Park Community Center and Hillcrest Community Center are available for full day or morning only camps. Available for sports, science, music, art and specialty camps. Camp registration and fees are your responsibility.

Looking for a well-supervised and safe environment? Camp provides a unique experience for children to learn valuable skills and make new friends through activities that are challenging, educational and downright fun. Camp will provide an opportunity for personal growth, self-esteem and friendship building in a safe environment. All camps are licensed for ages 6-12 by Kansas Department of Health and Environment Child Care. Qualified and trained counselors supervise small groups Mon.-Fri. 7:15 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Civitan Day Camp: Civitan Building in Gage Park

This camp is designed for young people with developmental or other disabilities requiring adapted instruction and increased supervision. Our structured routine and staff ratio provides a successful environment for campers with behavioral and cognitive disabilities. Campers should be prepared to spend a large part of the day outdoors and travel through the park as a group. This program is licensed by Kansas Department of Health and Environment Child Care.
