Reporting Verbs: say; tell
Use tell when mentioning the listener. Ex: Shayna told us that she loved cats.

Reporting questions: Indirect speech
Direct speech Ex: Shayna asked, "Do you like grammar?"
Ex: Shayna asked (us) if we liked grammar.

Crazy English Exception!! When an indirect question doesn't use an auxiliary, and doesn't have a direct object, use QUESTION ORDER.
