Shayoma Dilhara Diversity E19 CC Year 3 BA fashion West London College
DIVERSITY As part of my diversity project, I chose to look into the diversity between Siamese twins. My main focus and concept that I have looked into were the difficulties that they face in life. My spring/summer collection has a sport inspired theme. In terms of fashion my main objective towards this project was ‘MULTIPLES’. Therefore looking at the body shape and multiple body parts has helped me to create my collection such as expanding and multiplying certain areas of the garments, to show fine detail. This then brought me back to thinking about the silhouette of my collection. I wanted to emphasis the narrowness, hardness and tightness of the silhouette to highlight the garment. To really express the difficulties that the Siamese twins have in life, I have used depressing colours such as blues, greys and white to portray strong emotions. This beautiful set of colours expressed the rich fine detail. My collection includes trousers and tops, skirts and shorts and Jackets hood that are all sport inspired and is made for any age category and sex. Due to a sport themed collection I chose to use fabrics such as mesh, jersey and cotton, which are some of the best fabrics that keep you, cool. This is one of my key features due to creating sports garments.
