SHELBY COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL The Shelby County Arts Council hosts exhibitions and regularly invites local and touring musicians to perform in its Black Box Theatre in its arts center in Columbiana. Adult classes in painting, pottery, jewelry making, photography, drawing, music and writing are also offered. shelbycountyartscouncil.com
SOUTH CITY THEATRE South City Theatre produces six main stage shows per year, as well as two yearly productions and a summer camp for kids. At the Pelham location, the theater can seat up to 60 people comfortably. On average, their shows attract 3,000 audience members annually. southcitytheatre.com
UNIVERSITY OF MONTEVALLO THEATRE The University of Montevallo Department of Theatre presents several shows on-campus every year at its new Center for the Arts just blocks from downtown Montevallo’s Main Street. The university provides theatre training within the context of a wellrounded liberal arts education, and one of its theatre alumni was Broadway actress Rebecca Luker. montevallo.edu 14
