HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?

(Jack’s Point of View): Emily and I grew up only three minutes away from each other, first meeting one another at the pool at Wald Park. We even sat beside each other in grade school. We first “dated” in sixth grade, but Emily broke my heart two weeks before Valentine’s Day. We reconnected again in eighth grade and have been together since. It wasn’t until March 9, 2016, when I was in an accident that I realized I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life with anyone other than Emily. That feeling was so profound that I, as a die-hard Alabama fan, followed her to Auburn University for college where our love eventually blossomed into marriage.

THE PROPOSAL

I was originally planning on proposing at The Club, but it shut down temporarily during the pandemic. I then had to act fast and change it to Sybil Temple–a place we share many memories–just days before the proposal. I had a photographer hide in the bushes to take photos, and it was better than either of us could have imagined.

FAVORITE WEDDING MOMENT

(Emily’s Point of View): One of our favorite moments of the entire wedding was walking down the aisle to each other. We had dreamed about this for years before it actually happened. Seeing it all come to fruition was incredible. There is no better feeling in the world than to be married to your best friend!

Favorite Wedding Details

We had so many favorite details. One was walking down the aisle with my granny’s first Bible and my late mimi’s ring attached to my bouquet. Jack is a lover of classic cars, so it was only fitting we left in one. It was a special touch to our day.
