Lynn Ray, Owner and President of Business Telephones Inc., has been named Ambassador of the Month in July for the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce. BTI has been in business for 27 years specializing in meeting communication needs of small to medium-sized businesses by providing telephone systems, unified messaging, off site telephones and phone/data cabling. Lynn provides consulting on local, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), long distance and telecommunication information to aid businesses in making the best decision to increase productivity and income. We’re excited to host the first ever Shelby Blues & BBQ! Come out and enjoy great food and great music, and even watch football. Shelby Blues & BBQ will be held on October 1st at the Verizon Wireless Music Center Charter Pavilion. Gates will open to the public at 1 pm until 9 pm and tickets are only $5 per person and will go on sale September 1st. We are planning to have a Kids Area, Tailgating Area
to watch Alabama or Auburn on large screens (both away games), tons of vendors, and great blues music. This is a family-friendly event so invite everyone you know to come on out for a great time! September Membership Luncheon

The September membership luncheon is planned to be interactive and informative. Networking will begin 11 a.m. with a mini-business expo, our Showcase City Feature. This month we will showcase the cities of Chelsea and Harpersville. The Showcase City Feature is just what the title implies ... businesses located in the respective cities showcase their products and services. The luncheon will begin at noon and will feature a keynote speaker to address attendees. Our luncheons are fast-paced and action-packed. The luncheon will be at the Pelham Civic Complex, 500 Amphitheater Road, Pelham and reservations are required by September 26th. The investment is $17 for members of the Greater Shelby Chamber and $25 for guests. Reservations for Greater Shelby County Chamber members taken after the RSVP deadline are $25. Cancellation Policy: If you make a reservation for a membership luncheon and are unable to attend, you must cancel your reservation at least TWO days prior to the luncheon to avoid being charged.

2nd Annual Sporting Clay Shoot at Selwood Farm The Greater Shelby Chamber is planning its 2nd Annual Sporting Clay Shoot on November 2nd at Selwood Farm in Alpine. Selwoodís fully automated Sporting Clays course, both challenging and fun, meets the needs of all levels of shooters. Selwoodís comprehensive shooting facility includes a NEW covered 5-stand for warm-up and training and a 100-target course. Their traps offer challenging targets for both the beginner and expert. We are calling all Sporting Clay enthusiasts, beginners and experts, to test your skills on the course, designed for pleasure and enjoyment in the great outdoors. Watch for details!
