When creating the Starbucks Campaign I wanted to embrace the fun feeling that goes along with all the different possibilities there are when ordering your drink at Starbucks. I wanted to create a clean and fun design that was still intriguing enough to catch a viewer’s eye within advertising. The biggest design challenge I faced in this process was consistency and the use of white space. Creating the perfect layout for the adds was another main design challenge I came across. Once creating the layout finding the consistency came together.

When designing the Varsity All Star Fashion Show my idea came from a freelance social media job I did for a cheerleading company I work for. The fashion week is online so I wanted to explore creating a real event. Some of the design challenges I faced came with creating consistency between all components. When creating the logo, I used there signature “check with a glitter texture and type treatment. I wanted to keep that type treatment a consistent theme throughout the entire project. This project consists of a social media countdown, banners that would be showcased outside of the show and cards that would be given out at the show itself.

When redesigning Marineland of Florida’s wayfinding system some of the design challenges I faced came with the redesign all together. I started with the logo and decided I wanted to showcase more of the animals that are homed there. Once creating the logo I wanted to continue the feel across all the signs that would be inside of the park. Another challenge I face was finding a type of wood that would increase the signs overall. The typefaces that were chosen for this redesign came from the existing logo. I wanted to use the same script style font but in a fresh new way. I also wanted to show the history of Marineland and that is why I choose an art deco style secondary typeface. Marineland opened in 1938 and that was during the art deco time period. All the images within the project were taken by me when visiting the park. Overall the feel of the signs fit the coastal environment where Marineland is located.

When choosing a website to redesign I choose Zone Cheer All Stars. This company has been in my life for the past seven years and I really wanted to take their website in a different directing. Their website now has bright shapes and their color scheme but the structure and organization isn’t fully there. The typefaces varies throughout and It doesn’t have one overall feel for the entire website. With the website having a lot of content I wanted to keep a clean and structured layout but enhance it with pictures and an eye catching background. Some of the design challenges faced when creating this website was the HTML and CSS. This was a learning experience with web design and I feel that it has sparked an interest in the areas of design I enjoy.

When creating Sassy Sweets I wanted to create a store that wasn’t your over the top typical candy store. I wanted to create a rustic and fun place to be. Along with being a candy store I wanted to create a bar that had candy inspired cocktails. The candy store would also sell their custom vodka that is used in some of the specialty drinks. When creating the logo I wanted to explore line and structure and use a typeface that complemented well within. When creating this logo and style most of the design challenges faced came with creating a design that went together well. Another design challenge was creating a way for the logo theme to carry across to the other components.

When creating Chameleon Colors I wanted to create a hair care product that enhanced and stained hair in a natural way. When creating the look and feel for this product the design challenges came with trying to decide on the overall brand. When testing out color schemes a natural and organic scheme was much more inviting and a product that I could easily see being sold. After deciding on the color scheme I had to create labels that would invite the customer to want to try this product. This is where the overall package came into play. Most people want more for their money so doing a starting package allows people to try multiple products for a less expensive price overall. This is where the design of the wood box and canvas bag came into play. They are both natural materials that enhanced the overall feel of the product and brand. Other design challenges that I had to over come when creating this brand was the textures and fonts. I wanted the look to be clean yet still tasteful. It was hard to find the perfect combination because some looks where to bland and others were way too much. Overall the outcome of this product and brand created a natural and organic feel and all came together.

When creating the app Social District I wanted to create a clean layout that still had the feel of being at a nightlife scene. This app is to help navigated and plan for a city you are traveling to, or just for someone who lives in the town to stay on top of everything that is going on within the town. Some of the design challenges I faced came with the layout and functionality of the app. After several different designs and color options I feel that I finally came up with a consistent feeling that worked well throughout all the different pages and layouts.
