PRESIDENT'S NOTE Hey hey hey Monsters! Here’s an insider scoop to what’s happening in this month… We will be hosting the February DCM at Sheldon! Also, as the year is coming to a close make sure to fill out the CNH contests and turn them in early. It’s important to recognize all your hard work that you’ve done during this year and being able to add something to your resume :00 I am so proud of everyone who is actively attending service and everything that you guys have accomplished. Let’s remember to stay active with our social media and attending general meetings as we are soon opening up elections to be on next years board! See you guys soon :))

EDITOR'S NOTE Do you hear the birds chirping and dragons roaring? It's February, the month of Valentine's Day and Lunar New Year! I've seen that everyone is now back in their groove and are well adjusted to your schedules. This month, we will have more service events as well as the deadline for most of the CNH contests. Make sure to finish before the due date! Also, congrats to all of you for attending the meetings and service events! We are almost done reaching our goal to 3000 total hours and I am astonished and proud of you all. Keep it up! Since school is coming to an end in 3 months, elections are coming soon so keep an eye out for more information.

RECAP OF EVENTS

January 11th, 2023 | All School Clean-Up

I personally enjoy being able to give back to our school by helping it stay clean. Our school gives students from all backgrounds a chance to succeed and find support to succeed. While I know these days to help school up seem minor, I personally feel satisfied to Having a Discussion be able to help my teachers and overall help our few custodians clean our large campus. Every time I’m able to help clean up, our fantastic teachers and staff give a proper thank you. Some teachers might give out snacks but a memorial I truly enjoyed was shaking hands with one of our Picking up Trash custodians. While volunteering does not seem to do much, many appreciate the effort and attention put forth in making our school feel cleaner and a generally more enjoyable place to be.

January 21st, 2023 | Conclave I had the opportunity to attend conclave recently, where the new lieutenant governor was elected to oversee the division. It was a wonderful experience to reconnect with people I hadn't seen in a while and engage with those from different divisions. One of the highlights of the day was making bracelets for service hours, although it was disappointing when they fell apart. Nonetheless, it was a heartwarming experience to connect with others while contributing to a good cause.

January 27th, 2023 | Mardi Gras Madness I came to the event at 1 PM and helped set up before the main event began. I put up posters, streamers, and spent 2 hours blowing up an inflatable. They gave us breaks and fed us pizza and cheese sticks. I enjoyed the people I worked with. We got to host a game and I used the computer. They also gave us tips, which is really nice. Alex and I got paid $31 so about 3 dollars an hour along with the 10 hours of community service. Other people were there to help but they didn't do much. The people we were working for were really nice. I would do this opportunity again.
