DeKalb residents enjoy summer weather, country music at MVP’s Block Party

California St., closed down the street around 3 p.m. to start setting up for the block party. Miller said the weather hadn’t been very good the past few years during the block party. DeKalb residents were able to enjoy sunny weather on Saturday.

seemed to consistently agree with the reports created by the Program Prioritization Task Force, said Robert Kreml, chair of the academic student task force. The two academic student task force meetings were spent focusing the most on programs placed in the “candidate for enhancement,” “candidate for transformation,” and “candidate for review” categories. The task force also discussed the nine new programs that were proposed in the task force report. Although additional commentary was added about the placement of some programs, only three programs were suggested for reconsidered categorization, which aren’t available to the public yet.

“Overall, it was an important process and I’m glad that the administration wanted the students to get involved in it as heavily as they did,” Kreml said. “Based on the discussion of my task force, students really did bring in an interesting and important perspective.” The response was sent to NIU President Doug Baker, who thanked the students for their involvement.
