Farmland group to hold annual meet Northern Star staff
DeKalb | The DeKalb County Farmland Foundation will hold its annual meeting 10 a.m. Saturday at Panera Bread, 2476 Sycamore Road. Anyone who is interested in the preservation of farmland, wetlands or other lands in DeKalb County is encouraged to attend, according to a news release. The meeting is open to the public and will be held in the community room of the restaurant. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will provide an overview of America’s Best Communities competition and DeKalb’s seven-step revitalization plan. America’s Best Community is a competition to promote economic growth within smaller communities. DeKalb is a semi-finalist for a $3 million prize.
