DeKalb | Artist Laura Kina, professor of art, media and design at DePaul University, will hold a lecture at 5 p.m. April 5 in the Holmes Student Center, Capitol Room. Kina’s lecture is a part of the Asian American Center’s INSIGHT Cultural Education Series and “OHANA” Series, according to an Asian American Center flier. Kina, a fourth generation multiracial Okinawan American, is a contemporary artist and her textile-based solo show, Uchinanchu, covers topics like Okinawa-Hawaii diasporic identities, according to the flier. DeKalb | The play “Blithe Spirit” will be performed in DeKalb next month, according to a flier from the School of Theatre and Dance. “Blithe Spirit”, written by Noel Coward, will be held April 7-10 and April 14-16 at the Huntley Middle School auditorium, 1515 S. Fourth St., according to the flier. Show time is 7:30 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays and second Saturdays. Ticket prices are $17 for adults, $9 for NIU students, $14 for seniors and $6 for children, said Suzanne Rosenik, office support associate for the School of Theatre and Dance. Tickets may be purchased at the box office located in the Holmes Student Center or online at niu.edu/theatre.
