Kennedy Expressway pile-up leaves about a dozen injured The Associated Press
Illinois State Police say more than 30 vehicles were involved in a chainreaction crash amid slippery conditions on a major Chicago expressway. A series of vehicles slammed into
each other after the initial accident occurred after 10 a.m. Sunday on the Kennedy Expressway near the downtown Ohio exit. Police say about a dozen people were hospitalized for injuries, but
none appears to be life threatening. Firefighters temporarily closed inbound traffic as they cleared the accident scene. Weather officials reported low visibility and icy conditions Sunday.
