The NIU Police Department provides police reports online at niu.edu/publicsafety/. Friday • At 8 p.m. Jan. 16, theft $500 and under was reported to have occurred at the Recreation Center. This case was suspended Friday. • At 8 a.m. Feb. 9, residential burglary was reported to have occurred at Stevenson South. At 11:30 p.m. Friday, Zachary Bavol, 21, of Naperville, was charged. • At 1:11 a.m., harassment by telephone was reported to have occurred at Neptune North. This case was closed by exception.
• At 2:56 p.m., possession of cannabis 30 grams and under was reported to have occurred at 5 Northern View Circle. This case was suspended. • At 8:30 p.m., possession of cannabis 30 grams and under was reported to have occurred at New Residence Hall West. This case was closed by exception. • At 12:01 a.m. Aug. 21, two counts of criminal damage to government-supported property were reported to have occurred at
Stevenson North. This case was opened Feb. 1. • At noon, criminal damage to government-supported property was reported to have occurred at Neptune East. This case was suspended. Saturday • At 3 a.m., possession of cannabis 30 grams and under and possession of drug equipment were reported to have occurred at Lot P. This case was closed by exception.

Hafeman, 40, of DeKalb, was charged with retail theft. • Walter S. Faber, 37, of DeKalb, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and no driver’s license.
• Takeisha R. Harrison, 29, of DeKalb, was charged with no driver’s license. • Christopher Luis Fitz, 20, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and possession of cannabis.

They found a gun they think was used in the incident in his car, according to a news release. They took possession of the gun and arrested him, Petragallo said.
