(8-8, 1-4 MAC) will take on Bowling Green (5-8) at 7 p.m. Wednesday after a close loss to Toledo over the weekend. NIU took a 65-59 loss to the Falcons last season under the tutelage of former head coach Kathi Bennett and haven’t beaten Bowling Green once in the last 10 years. A win would push head coach Lisa Carlsen’s team back above .500 and help to break its four-game losing streak. The Huskies’ last win came in a 65-58 victory over Akron on Jan 2. BGSU returns after dropping a game against Ball State over the weekend. The Huskies are 4-1 on the road thus far this season, but have managed to go just 1-4 in the MAC. Bowling Green is also on a fourgame losing streak and also have just one conference win. The Falcons are just 1-4 away from their home floor this season. Junior guard Ally Lehman is NIU’s leading scorer, averaging 13.2 points per game and scoring nearly 200 of the Huskies’ total points this season. She also averages 11.5 rebounds per game and leads the

The Huskies showed glimpses of good play in the game despite losing big, much of what is to be expected in the first game of the season. NIU junior Adey Osabuohien defeated Minnesota sophomore Caroline Ryba in the first set of the No. 1 singles match, but went on to lose the tiebreaker after the second set. The Huskies were able to keep close in many of the matches despite trailing, something that tends to happen to teams with lots of experience.
