DeKalb | Men’s basketball (16-4, 5-2 MAC) will look to keep its hot streak going as it travels to take on MAC-rival Miami (OH) (6-14, 0-7 MAC) in Oxford, Ohio on Saturday. The two teams last met on Feb. 5 and NIU went on an 8-0 run with two minutes left to win it 69-67. Senior guard Travon Baker scored a team-high 16 points and banked in the game-winning shot with 2.4 seconds left to play. Senior guard Geovonie McKnight led the Redhawks with 18 points. The Huskies have been red-hot this season, winning nine of their last 11 games. NIU is first or second in most defensive categories in the MAC. Miami is on a ninegame losing streak and ranks last in the MAC East Division. The team has not defeated a MAC opponent since March 3. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. NIU and will be televised on ESPN3. • Ranks No. 1 in scoring defense

DeKalb | Senior guard Travon Baker was named MAC West Player of the Week for the second time this season, averaging 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in victories against Central Michigan University on Jan. 19 and Toledo on Friday. Baker scored a game-high 19 points on 7-15 shooting from the field in the 75-70 comeback win against Central Michigan. The senior also dished out four assists and recorded two steals in 39 minutes. Baker scored a game-high 21 points in 38 minutes and netted six

triples against the Rockets, one shy of his career-high set against Eastern Michigan on Jan. 9. He also finished the game with two assists, two steals and a game-high nine rebounds. Baker’s second steal in the Toledo game was the 163rd of his college career, which tied the NIU record set by Ronald Minter (1993-97). Baker is averaging 12.5 points per game, 3.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game this season. The guard also has a 44 percent three-point field goal percentage. This is the third honor for the Huskies this season. Sophomore center Marin Maric received the same honor Dec. 21.
