Shorthanded tennis splits games Patrick Smith Staff writer T @NSSportsPatrick

DeKalb | Men’s tennis (3-2) split its games over the weekend, losing to University of Illinois at Chicago on Friday and bouncing back with a win over Eastern Illinois University on Saturday. Head coach Patrick Fisher was proud of how the Huskies were able to bounce back despite missing players with injuries. The team is back over .500 and has a four-day break before returning to action. “We needed this obviously, playing so shorthanded,” Fisher said. “We’re just so unbelievably injured and hurt right now. We really are just trying to maintain until we get healthy.

We needed it today and they did a good job. Kevin [Daun] and Georg [Lundkvist] won their matches in the middle of the lineup and Austin [Russell] and Erich [Schuette] were the difference with us winning or losing the match today in which they pulled through.”
