Football feeds off stadium’s energy Rod Carey Football head coach T @niucoachcarey
On behalf of our student-athletes and coaching staff, it is my pleasure to officially welcome each of you to the Huskie Family. We are super excited you are here, and we want to see you in
the stands for all five of our games at Huskie Stadium this fall and on Nov. 9 when we take on one of our biggest rivals in Chicago at U.S. Cellular Field in the Huskie ChiTown Showdown. We need our students to pack Huskie Stadium for every game in 2016. Our team feeds off of your energy; no one can get a stadium rocking like our students. Huskie Stadium has the best atmosphere in the Mid-American Conference and you made it happen. So get in your seats early, stay
through the fourth quarter and be ready to get loud. NIU Football ranks fifth in the country in wins over the last six years. We have played in a school and MAC record eight straight bowl games, and in an NCAA record six straight MAC Championship games. It all starts at home with great fans and a great atmosphere. The Huskies are the winningest team in the state of Illinois, not only in the last 10 years, but alltime. I hope you take pride in that, as Huskies, as our team — your
fellow students — represent you and all of our fans and alumni on and off the field. As an NIU student you get into all Huskie Athletics home events for free and you don’t even need a ticket. Bring your NIU OneCard to the game with you, swipe it at any of the gates on the East Side of Huskie Stadium and come in. The earlier you get in the stadium, the better seats you’ll get. The 2016 home opener is Sept. 17 versus San Diego State at the Huskie Stadium. See you there.
