reat success has followed football for many seasons, but tough losses have made for great disappoint among fans of the program; however, the Huskies are again looking at what seems to be an exciting season. The team has racked up five consecutive 11-win seasons, going 57-13 in the process. They’ve gained national acclaim and have become the pride and joy of NIU. The last three seasons have ended with losses that total 57 points, which should be a motivating factor heading into the 2015-16 campaign. Much of last year’s roster will be returning, leaving behind questions of chemistry within the team. The season will likely be

highlighted by a nationally televised game against Ohio State Sept. 19, which has been discussed throughout the team. “Everybody’s thought about it; I’ll say that,” said quarterback Drew Hare. “But like coach said, we have had an open conversation about it, got it out there, let it get done. Since then, I really do feel like we’ve been focused on just week one right now.” Many questions have risen regarding whether the Huskies can compete with a team like Ohio State, and the stage has been set for them to prove they can do so. Regardless of how the season plays out, it looks as if it will be an entertaining one to say the least. The season will kick off Sept 5 in DeKalb against UNLV. Go get ‘em, Huskies.
