Panhellenic sororities recruited pledges Sept. 9 to 11. Pledges wrapped up the weekend with a preference ceremony, where pledges narrowed down their sorority choice to two houses, and the selection of their sorority.

Pledges anxiously await for the doors of their sorority to open this past Saturday outside the Sigma Kappa house, 928 W. Hillcrest Drive. The Sigma Kappa chapter at NIU was founded in 1954. Accountancy major Payton Tamboureas is the president of the NIU Sigma Kappa chapter, according to the sororities website.
Members of Sigma Sigma Sigma welcome pledges into their sorority this past Saturday at the sororities house, 1202 Blackhawk Road. Tri Sigma believes in strong female leaders and works to develop leadership within its sorority, according to its website.

Delta Gamma members show off their chant by singing to the pledges that were waiting in the wind and rain this past Saturday at the Delta Gamma sorority house, 917 Kimberly Drive. The house has a study room, formal room, dining room and kitchen and can fit more than 50 members, according to the sororities website.
