Columnist Jesse Baalman reviews the fall TV show line up and decides whether they are here to stay.

“This Is Us” — Stay This show should have no problem staying on air and establishing a loyal fanbase. “This Is Us” will do the job thanks to the unique storyline and diverse messages it sends for viewers of every kind to resonate with.
“Lethal Weapon” — Stay With reboots and remakes dominating much of the entertainment industry today, a “Lethal Weapon” adaptation is not exactly as necessary as it should be. Actors Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford might be the reason why this show sticks around. Maybe this program won’t be a beloved addition to fall’s lineup, but it seems enjoyable enough to stick around beyond the first season. “Bull” — Go Actor Michael Weatherly is making the leap from his long-running role on “NCIS” as Anthony DiNozzo to his new show “Bull.” Unfortunately, he does not stick the landing. The show’s lack of appeal is not Weatherly’s fault, rather it’s the writing. The program relies heavily on cliched aspects of past shows, while the projects listed above add something new and exciting. The future does not look promising for CBS’s latest.

Fall TV shows: What will stay, what will go?
“Designated Survivor” — Stay This show looks like the newest, must-watch political TV drama. The combination of fine work by actor Kiefer Sutherland and an irresistible storyline will help this show find a big audience to help it stay on air.

Network TV shows to tune into this fall Danielle Keys Columnist T @keys_danielle
Every fall, a slew of new TV shows premiere. With several networks putting out new shows each season, students often have many different shows to choose from. Here are four shows worthy to be in the fall network line up. “This Is Us” on NBC This show follows the lives of new parents, a man who just found his father, a woman struggling with weight who may find new love and her twin brother who is in the middle of a life and career crisis. It left me wanting to know more about each person and how they are all connected. After watching the pilot episode, I am definitely going to keep watching this show.
“Lethal Weapon” on FOX “Lethal Weapon” was a movie franchise from the late ‘80s that starred actors Mel Gibson and Danny Glover and is about a pair of police officers solving crime with a bit of humor. FOX is trying to reimagine this movie into a TV series that I feel fell short of its expectations. The chemistry between actors Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford is what carries on the “Lethal Weapon” legacy similar to the movie franchise. Although funny at times, “Lethal Weapon” fails to put everything in one complete package.
“Bull” on CBS The pilot episode starts with a group of people playing volleyball on the beach. As they are playing, a girl encounters a body washed up on the beach; talk about an awkward opening to a show. From the one-liners, to the awkward interactions with cast members, I did not care for this show from the start. I think the only thing going for this show is “Designated Survivor” on ABC that former “NCIS” star Michael “Designated Survivor” is about Weatherly is in it and that the Tom Kirkman, a low-level cabinet show is based on the early work of member, who suddenly becomes TV personality Dr. Phil. the president of the United States after a catastrophic explosion oc- Danielle’s ratings curs at the Capitol during a State of the Union address. • “This Is Us” 9 p.m. Tuesday on This show has a lot of action in NBC: 9 out of 10 the first 15 minutes and keeps view- • “Designated Survivor” 9 p.m. ers interested.
