Field of study influences day-to-day wardrobe

Students can be diverse in how they dress. Certain clubs or majors may require or influence professional attire, such as accounting or business majors. Other fields of study may create the need for students to wear clothes they can get stained with charcoal, paint and other art supplies.

Junior accounting majors Brad Turska (left) and Eric Ngum wait for class to start Wednesday in Barsema Hall. The two are dressed up for a meeting with the Student Accountancy Society. They both found taking countless business courses and clubs that require members dress like professionals rubbed off on them as the two are more comfortable in professional attire.

I like dressing up, just not when I am working with charcoal.” Alex Dawe Senior illustration major

Senior kinesiology major Mary Kate instructs a pilates class Wednesday at the Student Recreation Center. Kate’s classes are normally held in a classroom, but since the Student Recreation Center offers jobs to students, Kate can teach classes she finds interesting and helpful to others while wearing comfortable clothing.

Senior illustration major Alex Dawe works on art projects in class Wednesday in the Jack Arends Building. Dawe has found that art classes have a similar structure to her other classes. Some advice she has received is to wear clothing that she does not mind messing up. “I like dressing up, just not when I am working with charcoal,” Dawe said.
