From 1807 onward, it was illegal to import slaves into the United States from Africa. Author Robert Macomber will explore the illegal slave trade in Africa, the Caribbean, and Florida and the little-known story of brave American naval sailors who tried from 1842 to 1862 to stop this horrific traffic.
