Education Teacher Stress: Signs and Symptoms

Education teacher stress is definitely not new in the realm of teaching. Teachers often experience this becauseof their countless workload everyday. Even their weekends are full of school related activities like doing lesson plans, checking papers and handling new activities. Stressis actually a normal physical response to events wherein you feel uneasy and upset. But oftentimes, we really can’t distinguish stress from other forms of responses. Thus, in order for us to set a clear disparity as to how to identify it, here are some lists that we teachers must really be cautious and be aware of. Symptom # 1: Everyday temper. We humans tend to get angry or frustrated about things. There are surely some casesin the school that will definitely trigger our emotions into anger. To name some would be noisy students, unexpected activities and cramming. But nevertheless, if you notice that your anger occurs on a daily basis, it's a clear sign of stress. For one, it is not every day that students misbehaved or you cram on a planned activity. If you have the patience before for a very long time, but recently cut a little less, then rethink becauseyou are definitely feeling anxiety. Symptom # 2: Physical pain. Disease,illness and pain are things our body can feel and experience. This happens rarely. But if you are under stress these happen more frequently. You may experience some aches and pains, diarrhea or constipation, dizziness, chest pain and even rapid heartbeat. Some may also have frequent colds, fever and flu. Stresscan trigger and disable certain parts of the body and functions to the point that our body is to compensate for such change. Thus, the physical pain will be evident and can surely be felt. Symptom # 3: Behavioral signs. Education teacher stress does not only touch the physical and emotional aspects of an educator. In addition, behavior can also be affected. So watch out for these symptoms that can indicate eating more or less of your usual consumption, sleeping too much or too little, isolation and abandonment of professional responsibilities. For example, if you happen to do not appreciate your line of profession today seeing only the negative and worrying about it over and over again, then you actually are experiencing stress. For some bad habits can also grow like drug addiction, alcohol and smoking. Theseare just common signs that may sound normal, but should be checked regularly in order to fully know if it is stress or not. If yes, then it would be better to seek help as soon as possible to aid you with the battle. It has been stated that prevention is always better than cure. Therefore, do not let education teacher stress be a bother but rather a challenge for anyone.
