As Being a mentor you tend to lead class discussions, prepare your lessons for the next and succeeding days, checking papers, discipline students, attend faculty meetings and much more. In fact, what we see now is just the tip of the iceberg of the many things they normally perform every single day. However if you decide in quitting teaching, better think twice of this solution. With so many things that teachers tend to do every day, taking yourself out from it is really not a good alternative. Regardless of whether tasks seemed so endless at your table waiting for your attention, there are still things in that realm that you can enjoy. In addition, there are elements in the profession that are great reasons enough for you not to call it quits. Here are some of it.
I tem 1: Students. Your students are your responsibility. They entrust their lives and their knowledge in your hands. So if you ever leave the academia, you will not be able to help them in their knowledge and education. So if you're ever near or already inclined to your students and also being close to them, it would be better to stick to the profession. It is actually rewarding seeing many individuals who benefited from your actions.
I tem 2: Money. In spite if one can say that the salary of the teaching profession is not very substantial, nevertheless you will be receiving money during payday. Should the teaching profession be your bread and butter, it would be suggested not to leave. So if you think your current salary is low, leaving it is a big no. You'll be left with no money in the process if you are looking for another job or employment. In fact, there are still many opportunities for you to undertake and more money on your end should you be resourceful and still being a teacher.
I tem 3: Satisfaction. It’s evident that the teaching profession is one noble profession. As a matter of fact it is. This is the career where you will be emotionally happy because every day is like reaching and extending help to others you’re your students for instance. Moreover, it is also nice to hear that your students come back to you and thank you for the valuable lessons you gave to them. Without teachers, there would be no doctors, engineers, lawyers and other professions that are dependent on educators. With all these and much more to even enumerate, these are reasons enough. In fact, it's a calling that only a few accepted and only a few are good at. If ever you're a teacher now, thank the opportunity that it created you one. You'll soon realize that quitting teaching is not a solution and will never be one.
