House ethos

In Kenelm, we foster an environment that is safe, supportive, caring and enjoyable for each and every girl and for the staff who work here. We create a culture that values friendship, kindness, respect, enthusiasm and trust. Schools are places where learning should happen at every level, and we encourage Kenelm girls to work hard and encourage others to do their best too. The House should be calm and orderly so that everyone can achieve their best and stay healthy. Honesty and good humour are fundamental to coping with thepressures of boarding life, and it is expected that Kenelm girls will show independence of thought and creativity. The School is founded on Christian principles, so the girls are encouraged to develop their abilities but also to respect and care for others. They should be proud not only of their individual achievements but also those of the whole House. We hope that girls will emerge from Kenelm with excellent personal skills and confidence in their abilities to deal with any challenges they face in life.
