FAQ

Is it useful to have a mobile phone? Mobile phones are useful but not compulsory. There are some ‘mobile-free zones’, such as the dining rooms, School Hall and the Gransden Hall. Mobile phones are not permitted in the Main School during the school day. Remember, you can phone home at any time you are in House, even if you do not have your mobile with you. Just ask the member of staff on duty and they will let you use the House phone in a private space. We also have phone free days which help us to have a digital detox and focus on time with our friends rather than time on screen.

Is there anywhere I can keep my things safe? We recommend that you hand in anything of value, including money and passports, to be safely locked away. All rooms and ‘cues’ have a lockable drawer that you can also keep precious items in. Your Matron will give you a key but please be aware that, should you lose it, you will be charged£15 to cover the cost of replacing the lock.

What do I do if I don’t feel well? If you are in the House you should report to Matron or a member of House staff. They will send you or take you to the Health Centre who will assess you. If you are in a lesson ask your teacher if you can go to the Health Centre where again you will be assessed. You must always be assessed by the Health Centre before you can stay in House and/or miss lessons.
