For us to continue to offer testing services at such a reduced rate, we cannot guarantee that further price reductions will always be possible.

Most assessments range from two to four meetings or sessions. In general, the first session consists of a consultation to determine whether or not testing is appropriate; there is no cost for this meeting. Commitment to Issues of Diversity and Social Justice _____________________________________________________________ The Counseling Psychology Training Clinic (CPTC) is committed to issues of diversity and social justice, which is reflected in its training model and services. This commitment is demonstrated by:    

Providing affordable counseling and testing services Serving underrepresented populations Connecting to and providing outreach for various community agencies Advocating for clients

We asked our staff to speak about our social justice mission, our commitment to respect diversity, and our attention to issues of power and oppression. Here are examples of what they said:

“At the CPTC, I have the opportunity to live my social justice values through my work with clients. As a training clinic, we get to provide therapy to some people who may not otherwise have access to services. Perhaps most importantly, in my opinion, we get to learn with and from our clients who, I have experienced, gain meaning from the knowledge that they, in turn, offer something to us.”

“We try to attend to the unique facets of our clients’ complex cultural identities. We take great care to understand the client and the world through the clients’ eyes.”

“I make sure to consider the contextual factors in my clients' lives, and have found this to be helpful for my clients and their healing process.”

“We hope we can serve all members of the community, not simply those who have traditionally had access. In addition, we hope that through the supervision and training taking place at the CPTC that the services we provide will be of value to all clients and that counseling can be shaped to fit clients' specific needs and expectations.”

“We are committed to serving community members from diverse backgrounds, collaborating university and community resources to best meet the needs of our clientele.”

Please don’t hesitate to call if there are questions related to our social justice mission and our commitment to issues of diversity.
